Description

The Buyer will be responsible for the placing of PO’s directly with our supply base and ensuring order fulfillment.  This individual will work closely with Corporate Services, Strategic Material Managers, and the Supplier Quality Team Lead to make vital contributions to the departmental direct/indirect savings goals while supporting Policy Deployment objectives.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Process daily orders as received from Corporate Services and inventory reports

  • Ensuring order fulfillment to improve on-time shipment, while communicating shortfalls

  • Negotiate and maintain system pricing to ensure ease of order processing

  • Track vendor performance and work with the Supplier Quality Team Lead to drive improvements

  • Facilitate meetings to review vendor performance while upholding them to ChemTreat standards

  • Efficiently resolve vendor discrepancies (price, quality, delays, safety, etc.) while working with suppliers to drive to root cause and implementing corrective actions where needed

  • Drive continuous improvement through daily reporting of departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)

 Identify and lead continuous improvement activities using multiple tools (Problem Solving Process, Kaizen, etc.)


  • Manage Blanket PO’s from issuance to renewal/deposition

  • Maintain shared departmental standard work documents

SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Contract Negotiations (pricing, payment terms, etc.), Data Analytics, Cross Training and Purchasing of Other Commodities, Vendor Qualification

  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


  • Bachelor's Degree; Degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred

  • 1-2 years of purchasing or inventory management; 3-5 years preferred

  • ISM C.P.M or CPSM certification preferred

  • Constantly required to sit and occasionally required to walk, stand, climb (includes stairs), balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk, hear, and smell

  • Constantly using hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, and computer keyboards.
