Description

The purpose of this role is to satisfy customer on time delivery expectations while meeting the inventory level goals.  This role requires performing a variety of purchasing related tasks, as well as analyses of usage and developing planning parameters.  This position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.



Essential Functions:



  • Quote, place and maintain purchase orders to support manufacturing

  • Communicate priorities and schedule changes to suppliers to support manufacturing

  • Build positive working relationships with suppliers and identify opportunities to build flexibility and robustness into supply base

  • Responsible for Kanban implementation, planning processes and inventory management

  • Work with suppliers to achieve quality and delivery targets

  • Identify and implement Purchase Price Variance (PPV) opportunities to reduce costs


  • Escalation point for maintaining inventory accuracy, reconciling inventory discrepancies, and troubleshooting problems

  • Determine root cause and countermeasures to eliminate inventory discrepancies and lead corrective action activities related to inventory

  • Participate in the engineering change workflow and New Product Introduction, and implemented change orders

  • Use and maintain visual management


  • Participate in Kaizen events or improvement project teams

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements



Qualifications


  • BA/BS in Supply Chain, Business or Materials related field, or a combination of education and work experience totaling 2 years

  • Minimum of 1 year experience with inventory in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word; including calculations, spreadsheets, graphics and statistical tools, etc.

  • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP software and inventory processes and planning

  • Excellent writing, presentation and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with a variety of people at various technical and management levels

  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management

  • Working knowledge of quality principles and tools (problem analysis, statistical tools, design of experiments, control charts, and other quality methodologies)

  • Working knowledge of the Toyota Production System (Danaher Business System) preferred

  • Purchasing experience preferred
