POSITION SUMMARY


The Business Process & Systems Leader can live/reside in several locations:  Chaska, MN; Brea, CA; Miami, FL. 


This leader is responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful implementation of the Danaher Business System (DBS) at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, allowing those sites to meet their Policy Deployment (PD) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets, as well as building business cases to prioritize investments that help us move closer to Industry 4.0 best practices that are applicable to our business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




    • Drive targeted, sustainable improvement in Quality, OTD, OMX, and WCT core value drivers and related KPI’s/objectives that are tied to Policy Deployment (PD) and Daily Management (DM) by leveraging DBS tools, facilitation skills, and the change management process.


    • Assist functional Leadership in the development of a DBS Roadmap (i.e., how to use the DBS tools to drive sustainable improvement in results).


    • Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching


    • Facilitate other DBS training sessions when appropriate (other trainers and consultants from Danaher, Shingijutsu or other).


    • Be an active Leader in PD and Daily Management reviews (as appropriate)


    • Regularly participate in L1 or L2 PD reviews


    • Ensure successful kaizen events by installing and ensuring compliance to the kaizen process (includes; (1) planning of kaizens with a dynamic funnel process tied to PD and Daily Management, (2) kaizen execution and (3) sustainment of kaizens).


    • Promote and facilitate diagnosis of work flow impediments and other wastes throughout the business, and provide expert counsel on appropriate DBS tools to eliminate them


    • Improve DBS training and facilitation skills by pursuing certification in DBS tools (MBB process for self and others).


    • Promote and facilitate associate development in various DBS tools and kaizen leadership.


    • Evaluate and approve Associates for MBB certification.


    • Benchmark and incorporate best practices from other Danaher locations and build business cases to prioritize investments that help us move closer to Industry 4.0 best practices that are applicable to our operations & supply chain.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS





    • Significant practitioner experience in functions/areas supporting Manufacturing, FG Planning, Strategic Sourcing, Sustaining Engineering, and New Product Development (Design Transfer).


    • Demonstrated proficiency applying lean principles in a variety of situations.


    • Demonstrated customer focus and strong interpersonal and communications skills in English. 


    • Demonstrated ability in conflict resolution, problem solving, and critical thinking. 


    • Self-driven, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations.


    • Demonstrated ability to work independently, in teams, and complex matrix environments across multiple geographies.


    • Ability to work and influence all levels of the organization from Senior Leaders, Functional Leaders to project managers and practitioners in all functional areas, including effective coaching and mentoring skills.


    • Strong group facilitation/teaching skills, including public speaking and moderating.


    • Full cycle project management skills.


    • Good analytical skills; ability to manipulate large data sets preferred (Oracle OBI, Business Objects, Power BI, MS Access, or similar). Proficient in the use of IT systems/platforms.


    • Demonstrated passion to keep up with industry trends and their applicability to our business operations (i.e. Industry 4.0).


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE





    • BS or BA Degree in Business, Science, or Engineering required; Master’s Degree preferred.


    • Minimum 9 years of direct application of lean/continuous improvement experience in functional areas supporting Field Service, Technical Support, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Research and Development, Supply Chain, Procurement/Sourcing, Engineering, and/or any combination thereof.


    • Mastery of a variety of Lean tools.


    • Experience implementing new technology in manufacturing & supply chain environments (i.e. MES, PLM, eKanban, RFID, etc.) with demonstrated ROI.


    • Professional writing and administrative skills, including computer skills.

CRITICAL SKILLS





    • Practical experience implementing business processes & systems that drive improved performance in Quality, OTD, Profitability, and Working Capital across a Global Supply Chain.


    • Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a “general manager’s” point of view.


    • Ability to design, develop, and implement a DBS sustainability roadmap for a function.


    • Mastery of DBS Fundamentals and a variety of DBS/Lean tools. 


    • Excellent communications skills. Good writing and administrative skills, including computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, etc.). Must be self-sufficient administratively.


    • Excellent training skills; strong facilitation skills, leading by influence, and mentoring.


    • Familiarity with various manufacturing process technologies (e.g., Assembly, Machining, etc.).


    • Ideally familiar with driving change in regulated environments (e.g., FDA).


    • Hands-on experience implementing DBS (or TPS) in a line Leader role.


    • Exposure to and participation in a wide variety of training environments.


    • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.


    • Experience with modern manufacturing technologies and advanced manufacturing platforms, systems, and tools (i.e. RFID, IoT, MES, PLM, eKanban, etc.).
