Description

The Petroleum Product Manager is responsible for overseeing XOS’s product portfolio within the Petroleum Vertical.  This responsibility includes strategy development from executing Voice of the Customer (VOC) research, developing application and market insight, development of market specific collateral to support sales efforts and ownership of new product launch execution.

Responsibilities:




  • Work with marketing to create marketing campaigns and other lead generation and promotional activities



  • Own development of sales collateral to support sales within vertical and across regions



  • Identify, define, and prioritize new product development projects within his/her product portfolio



  • Own market analysis process, utilizing financial modelling and NPV/IRR tool  to support new product development



  • Support XOS strategic planning activities with deep understand of market vertical, including growth trajectories, competitive offerings and other industry trends



  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer needs/wants; user personas; product capabilities, features & benefits; technology capabilities in order to support efforts to develop best in class new products



  • Conduct extensive VOC to better understand customers’ needs and create precisely-defined product specifications that meet customers’ objectives



  • Utilize the Danaher Business System (DBS) in the form of bowlers, action plans, problem solving and kaizens to drive growth



  • Develop comprehensive business cases, including financial projections and VOC that support the development of new products and promotional plans



  • Lead new product development projects through the product development process and own the successful passing of Toll Gate (TG) meetings from TG 2 to TG 5.



  • Lead product launch plans on a global basis, including coordination with other business functions and geographies

Required Skills/Experience:




  • A minimum of 2 years of Product Management or Business Unit Management experience with demonstrated success in product positioning, market sizing, segmentation and analysis



  • Experience developing strategy and driving execution



  • Proven track record of success growing a product line/business unit



  • Logical thinking and ability to balance long-term strategic viewpoint with tactical execution



  • Must be consummate team player with excellent interpersonal skills able to develop relationships and influence at all levels and across cultures, including with customers and industry organization


     


Desired Skills/Experience: 



  • 2-5 year’s work experience with proven track record of quantifiable success

  • Experience in the Petroleum Industry

  • Sales experience (owning a number)

  • Marketing experience (collateral creation)

  • Experience using SFDC

  • Life Science Instrumentation experience


  • Experience selling and/or managing a highly technical product



  • Experience working in a matrix organization



    Education



  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required; Bachelor’s in Chemistry/Engineering/Physics and/or MBA is strongly preferred


Travel Requirements



  • 20-30% domestic and international
