Description

The Bioprocess Specialist role requires bioprocess knowledge and experience that will enable you to provide outstanding technical support to our customers while working with a focused sales team.  You will need demonstrated understanding of typical antibody and recombinant protein process development strategies and the ability to work within a dynamic sales and team environment.  Your communication skills both written and verbal (English mandatory additional languages a plus) are critical to the success of this role.   Your responsibilities will be to use your scientific and engineering principals to provide the best possible solutions and recommendations to our customers.  You will design and execute studies in a fast paced environment in an effort to support and deliver on our business strategy.  Your analysis and presentation of these results will directly impact the success of our business strategy.


This position is located in San Francisco, CA and Maryland/DC area.


Responsibilities:

  • Educate customers and support them in developing new drugs in their pipeline.  This is accomplished by working closely with the sales team, consulting and presenting to customers, performing trials, reporting results and proposing solutions.
  • Analyze and interpret data to determine appropriate scale-up variables.
  • Work closely with marketing to track and report metrics for progress.
  • Perform and coordinate bench scale testing to demonstrate how to get the best out of Pall products. Generate the necessary technical documents for internal and customer use.
  • Maintain up to date awareness of relevant technical developments.
  • Develop expertise by regular exchange of experiences, applications and technology training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated scientific acumen
  • Engineering background/experience
  • Highly capable using Excel
  • Commercial awareness/aptitude
  • In depth knowledge of unit operations and practices relevant to biotech customers and processes
  • Ability to plan and organize test work
  • Self-starter and self-motivated
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to motivate others
  • Bioprocess work experience in Biotech/Biopharm preferably with purification technologies 
  • Must live in territory

Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent), MSc or PhD in Engineering or Scientific disciplines
  • 2-5 years relevant experience in Biotech/Biopharm industry

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Current full driving license and passport
  • Willing to travel regionally up to 50%
