The position of marketing manager is a key role within our Microbiology Business Unit located in West Sacramento, Ca.  Diagnostics is a growing market due to the increasing need for rapid testing to combat antibiotic resistance. Increasing demand for automation, and new disruptive technologies such as mass spectrometry are helping laboratories meet this challenge.  The Microbiology MicroScan business unit is focused on continued delivery of high quality results through our MicroScan portfolio that delivers highly accurate bacterial identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing.   

The marketing manager guides the development of business plans, product lifecycle plans, and product introduction plans on a global basis for the MicroScan automation product family. In addition, the incumbent will guide the creation of pricing structures and positions products to include ROI and impact as well as provides input into the requirements for new product development of existing product enhancements.

The successful candidate will provide inbound marketing support to perform product and life cycle management.to include  
  • Design, Development, Production, Growth, Maintenance, EOL
  • Vendors (OEM) management
  • Competitive Analysis
  • VOC for new product development
  • Product Lifecycle  Plans
  • Core team representative
  • New product business Case & financials
  • Tracks market results
  • Market strategy
  • Create demand and maximize sales.
  • Evaluates brand performance.
  • Develop and implement reimbursement strategies/programs and provide reimbursement advice to related groups.
  • Oversees development and production of marketing materials.
  • Responsible for maintaining and advancing Company’s web exposure, position and presence.
  • Develops marketing communications programs to promote the sale of company products.
  • Consultant to sales force, as well as other functional areas.
  • Product Management formulates long-term plans and goals for specific product or product line based on assessment of critical future customer needs.
  • Conducts competitive analysis and market research.
  • Sets brand strategy and develops marketing strategies to ensure effective market positioning
  • Consultant to product development, as well as other functional areas.
  • In addition, this candidate represents global marketing and customer voice on the core team for the Microbiology Next Generation system development product through product launch and commercialization.   Performs a full range of standard work for marketing deliverables as part of an IDP project. 

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • B.S in Science/ Engineering with 14+ years’ experience or Master’s Doctoral degree with 12+ years’ experience and related experience include 3+ years managing people. 
  • Recent Experience with integration of assays, hardware and software into a customer workflow solution.
  • Strong working knowledge of FDA IVD requirements and software development process guidelines in a global regulatory requirements.
  • Track record of innovation.
  • The ideal candidate will be committed to continuous improvement, dynamic, and possess strong leadership, problem solving, decision making, and analytical skills. 
  • This position requires strong leadership skills, teamwork, planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • 10 years’ experience developing and testing commercially successful In-Vitro Diagnostics or similar products preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of Product Development Process
  • Experience in Microbiology is preferred.  
  • Experience working in a Healthcare regulated product development environment, e.g., ISO, QSR (FDA) is desirable.
  • Experience in clinical diagnostics and clinical microbiology preferred
