JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Sales Operations Manager, assist in developing detailed business analyses, evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide ad hoc analytic support to the Sales department and other business units as needed.  Design quantitative analyses and data modeling that translates the input into actionable discovery towards increasing profit and process improvement.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Either independently or working with cross-functional teams, develop and execute quantitative analyses, reports and dashboards through the acquisition, cleaning, and structuring of data using SQL & Excel to drive strategic action planning towards the acceleration of profitable growth.

  2. Perform ad hoc analysis as needed to service business units across the organization.

  3. Manipulate large data sets efficiently through scripting.

  4. Define and implement a cadence of routine reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) of KPIs, business alerts and other action items.

  5. Using a holistic approach, generate financial and data modeling tools that allow for strategic decision making on a variety of business issues and key initiatives.

  6. Discover and validate new methods of extracting new metrics from data sources that can be used in future reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics or similar quantitative field preferred.  One to Three plus (1-3+) years experience in an analytical or business intelligence role, preferably in a B2B environment.  Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Must possess strong analytical skills with proven, results-oriented business acumen.  Experience with statistical modeling and techniques using statistical software. Experience working with large data sets and Ecommerce marketing data (Acquisition, Retention, SEO, etc.) preferred.  Dental or medical device industry experience a plus.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers and leaders. Communicate clearly with co-workers and other stakeholders in the company while maintaining a high level of professionalism.  

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions.


OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  1. Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word and PowerPoint) with advanced proficiency in Excel.

  2. Proficiency in SQL or other relational database systems.  Query Optimization required.

  3. Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.

  4. Ability to work well, both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  5. Ability to demonstrate logical thinking and problem solving skills.

  6. Professional work ethic and ability to maintain confidentiality.

  7. Must be self-confident and self-motivated, with a desire to improve existing processes.
