Description

POSITION SUMMARY:


This position will be responsible for the assembly and test of x-ray analyzers within the XOS analyzer product group.  The individual is expected to work closely with engineers, specifically in the assembly, modification and documentation of components and processes.  The application of excellent manufacturing practices and the highest commitment to customer satisfaction are paramount to attaining this goal.



Responsibilities:


• Assembly and test of x-ray analyzers including general mechanical assembly of sub components to achieve this end.


• Use and maintenance of XOS software, tools and fixtures to perform assembly processes.


• Follow detailed process travelers and document any relevant production test data.


• Ensure inventory accuracy through performance of cycle counts as needed


• Participation in continuous improvement efforts in Assembly Area and throughout the factory.


• Maintain workstation cleanliness and maintain operational effectiveness of assembly work areas.


• Maintains Visual Management to track factory performance metrics – SQDIP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity).


• Daily reporting of performance to SQDIP metrics to broader production team

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills/Experience:


• Excellent mechanical aptitude with wiring experience. 


• Must be able to work with patience, follow detail procedures and make pass fail judgment at critical points within the alignment processes.


• Ability for recordkeeping with the attention to detail.


• Ability to read mechanical working drawings and bills of materials


• Must be able to work for long periods of time while standing (ergo mats provided).


• The individual must be able to work within a fast-paced, metrics driven environment


• Maintains a positive attitude in challenging situations



Desired Skills/Experience: 


• Minimum 2+ years hands on manufacturing experience in a similar environment, manufacturing capital equipment.



Education


• Degree in Physics, Math, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred OR student pursuing degree.

Individuals in this position will have ongoing interaction and communications with the following:


• Operations – Daily interaction with Ops team to meet production schedules and to deal with any quality issues.


• Service – As needed communication with Service team regarding customer returns or loaner instrument requirements


• Quality – Weekly interaction with Quality team regarding open quality issues and works with the team to get to root-cause resolution
