The Product Specialist will increase customer satisfaction and uptime through fast, efficient phone, online and email support of their imaging systems and contribute to Leica Sales success by providing support and training to our sales force.   

The Product Specialist consults with customers and sales/applications specialists to deeply understand and provide extensive application support on issues related to general microscopy. Perform remote online troubleshooting and training sessions with end customers and sales reps.  Supports exhibitions and organizes short course support, including planning, communicating, teaching and reporting.  Handles demonstration system logistics and confirms correct system functionality.  Processes customer provided samples and develops methods to address specific customer needs.

⦁ Provide expert product, application and software support to customers, sales and service organization

⦁ Triage technical problems during customer calls

⦁ Document and route support issues 

⦁ Communicate and resolve support requests 

⦁ Conduct software testing

⦁ Test and confirm demo system functionality 

⦁ Develop Protocols to Image Customer Samples

⦁ Conduct training courses for customers and Leica employees

⦁ Participate and teach in customer workshops

Job Requirements


a) Professional Experience
⦁ Minimum 2 years in a research, quality-control or production environment, applying microscopy and digital imaging techniques to drive results
⦁ High level of computer proficiency with troubleshooting knowledge
⦁ Experience in a customer-facing support role
⦁ Maintain and troubleshoot advanced imaging equipment, hardware and software
⦁ Teaching or training experience, provide training to others on how to apply imaging equipment and techniques to solve scientific questions

b)  Education
⦁ Minimum of BA/BS in an engineering or computer science discipline
⦁ Advanced degree preferred
⦁ Familiarity with microscopy and metrology applications and equipment

c)  Language
⦁ English 

d) Travel (required estimated % of time)
⦁ 20% - 30% North America / International

⦁ Self-motivated with a tenacious work ethic
