The Application Workflow Specialist UK, Ireland & Nordics holds the responsibility for supporting the area of Technical, Scientific and Application requests requiring advanced knowledge and expertise.

Responsibilities include:

Customer Support:
• Deliver best in class application support to help sales team during the evaluation of the project, demonstration of equipment and application training to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Follow-up and development of current Leica accounts (pre-sales demonstrations, creation/recognition of needs, presentation of Leica solutions [evaluations], resolution of customer concerns, negotiation of technical and financial solutions and closing).
• Provide Application Related after sales support and proactively contribute to the escalation of customer problems to Service, Sales, Customer Service as required
• Follow-up the post sales requirements ensuring that the customer experience meets or exceeds Leica’s expectations.

Sales Support:
• Technical and Application support (pre-sales, demonstrations/evaluations and post-sales) to the Sales Representatives to support complex inquires which cannot be addressed by Leica Sales Representatives or Third Party Channel Partners.
• Support Sales in pre-sales activities aimed at Creating Sales Opportunities: Exhibitions, Symposiums, webinars, Pre-sales demonstration and Product/Solution presentation.
• Support Sales in Win rate increase throughout the opportunities sales cycle: understanding customer needs, presenting and evaluating solutions, resolution of concerns and final technical negotiation. Support Sales Reps and Channel Partners in building appropriate configurations and solutions that meet customer needs and internal standards.
• Keep Sales Representatives up to date on our products, solutions and applications by providing continuous training. Assist them in pre and post sales application support. Do co-demonstrations of the most complex products in the portfolio.

Business Support:
• Proactively contribute to the Company’s ideation projects by contributing to and supporting information required from the Regional Team aimed at developing new products and solutions.

The position requires extensive travel within the assigned region.

Job Requirements

Sales experience

Familiarity with standard IT tools (Windows, MS Office)

SAP knowledge

Proven ability to drive customer satisfaction

Knowledge outside the direct area of Applied Microscopy (e.g. Widefield, CLSM, SM)

Professional Experience:

5 years’ experience in the field of microscopy or other analytical techniques based on imaging. Additional knowledge on other analytical technics (spectroscopy) will be welcomed. Demonstrated success providing technical support on complex products and experience in a B to B sales environment

Skilled in Computer science at user level (internal work) and advanced OS level (you should be familiar with Windows, be able to configure a network, solve classical problems related with missing files / configuration etc.)

Sales experience involving sales of high technology industrial microscopy products through direct sales and/or regional distributors is required

Modern sales methods

Working in an international environment and matrix organisation

Minimum Education:

Scientific, Engineering, or related bachelor degree

Fluent written and verbal English language

Desirable:  Bachelor Degree in metallography, material science or similar subjects with quantitative and qualitative knowledge of the materials and the main techniques to evaluate them
