JOB SUMMARY: 
The Analyst, Business Intelligence serves as a primary point of contact between the user community and Business Intelligence group, and is under the direction of the Manager, Business Intelligence. They will assist in developing detailed business analyses, evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide ad hoc analytic support to the Sales department and other business units as needed. Design quantitative analyses and data modeling that translates the input into actionable discovery towards increasing profit and process improvement.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Either independently or working with cross-functional teams, develop and execute quantitative analyses, reports and dashboards through the acquisition, cleaning, and structuring of data using BI tools to drive strategic action planning towards the acceleration of profitable growth.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as needed to service Sales and other business units across the organization.
  • Manipulate large data sets efficiently through scripting.
  • Define and implement a cadence of routine reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) of KPIs, business alerts and other action items.
  • Using a holistic approach, generate financial and data modeling tools that allow for strategic decision making on a variety of business issues and key initiatives.
  • Manage and execute Sales team leaderboards, standings, and commission and bonus statements on a monthly basis.
  • Identify gaps in information used by the user community and make recommendations for data inclusion.
  • Manage business transformation rules.
  • Discover and validate new methods of extracting new metrics from data sources that can be used in future reporting and analysis.
  • Develop training materials and conduct training for users in proper use of BI tools; assist users in the use of the BI tools as needed.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT or related field.  
  • 3+ years experience in developing or administering business intelligence platforms and satisfying user requirements for data, preferably in a multi-Operating Company B2B environment. 
  •  Experience with statistical modeling and techniques using statistical software preferred. 
  •  3+ years of experience with 1 or more BI reporting tools (Tableau, SAP or BW,)
  •  3+ years of experience with 1 or more Database languages (SQL*Plus, PL/SQL, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.) 
LANGUAGE SKILLS:  
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers and leaders. 
  • Communicate clearly with co-workers and other stakeholders in the company while maintaining a high level of professionalism.  
REASONING ABILITY:  
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions. 
PREFERRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Strong analytical skills with proven, results-oriented business acumen.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word and PowerPoint) with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience working with large data sets and Ecommerce marketing data (Acquisition, Retention, SEO, etc)
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to work well, both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to demonstrate logical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Professional work ethic and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be self-confident and self-motivated, with a desire to improve existing processes.
  • Dental or medical device industry experience a plus.
