Title:                              Advanced Technician Quality Control (Maternity Cover)

Responsibilities/Authority
 
  • Preparation of laboratory solutions to facilitate QC testing and maintenance activities e.g. analyser maintenance and assay/ analyser / microbiological testing, as required.
  • Product sampling for testing as required, to include sampling the purified water system, where necessary.
  • Maintenance and stock-checking of QC stock materials.
  • Ordering of laboratory materials to ensure adequate supplies and consumables available at all times.
  • Maintenance and housekeeping of QC storage units including room temperature areas, fridges, freezers and cold-rooms.
  • Maintenance of records for any tasks completed.
  • Adherence to Good Laboratory Practices and Company Safety Procedures when carrying out all duties.
  • Assisting in housekeeping activities including categorisation and disposal of test laboratory waste.
  • Participation in departmental 6S activities to include rotated laboratory duties including Synapse monitoring, maintenance programmes, managing laboratory disposable stocks, housekeeping, autoclave waste management etc.
  • Involvement in team activity to support a programme of continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Any other responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Supervisor / Manager Quality Control.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

 
  • Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) with 5+ years experience.
  • Previous QA/QC experience desirable.
  • Good working knowledge of GMP & Quality & Safety standards.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment would be an advantage.
  • Excellent record keeping and high accuracy and attention to detail.
