In this role you will manage the Esko EMEA Shared Service Center (SSC) for General Ledger & Accounts Payable function where accounting for 13 legal entities is performed. The entities are based in Belgium, UK, France, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland and Austria. 

You report to the Corporate Finance Manager in our Corporate HQ.

Main responsibilities and key activities: 


  • You manage, motivate and coach the direct reports (7 accountants in GL & AP and 1 Accountant in Norway) in order to drive high level performance and continuous improvements in the team and respective processes.
  • You drive a general culture of compliance in finance through policy sustainment, pro-active update, audit execution and regular follow up.


  • You manage month-end closing and reporting process, including accounting functions as well as assisting with monthly forecasting process and providing analyses on business performance
  • You prepare, reconcile or review GL accounts within various areas of accounting to meet SOX requirements. These areas may include accruals, receivables, intangibles, payables, prepaids, allowances, reserves and other areas  
  • You develop, implement and standardize accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes and work as a team with other accountants and cross functional teams
  • You manage the process around accounts payable and our expenses tools
  • You provide monthly input on Forecasting process for Deferred Revenue, Accounts Payable and Inventory.


  • You are responsible for timely completion of Statutory requirements (Annual Accounts, Shareholder/BoD minutes) for all legal entities as wel as all legal requirements (Director Changes, legal filings, etc.) 
  • You are responsible for on time and accurate STAT to US GAAP reconciliations per legal entity as per deadlines.
  • You ensure on-time statutory review of accounts and tax filings 
  • You coordinate and prepare the monthly and annual workers’ council update of the statutory financial for the Belgian entities
  • You ensure timely completion of the Tax Packages, in cooperation with Global TP & Tax Manager


  • You coordinate and provide support during external, internal and SOX audit activities, as required.
  • You establish and sustain the global internal control framework and SOX documentation, covering all EMEA SSC legal entities.
  • You maintain and enhance a strong, SOX-compliant control environment over transactional and reporting activities.


  • You identify and support our continuous improvement initiatives. You advocate and champion continuous improvement within functional areas as well as throughout the organization.  Participate in Kaizens / skill development opportunities across the platform and throughout the broader corporation.
  • You support ERP system implementations & improvements from a reporting and transactional efficiency perspective.

Job Requirements


Your profile:

  • A Degree in Accounting/Economics/Finance or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant finance/leadership experience in an international environment
  • Knowledge of US GAAP & Belgian GAAP
  • Advanced experience in all MS Office applications (Excel & Access) is a must. 
  • Basic knowledge of HFM and AX is a plus but not a prerequisite
  • Fluent knowledge of English. Any other language is considered a plus.

  • Good EQ & people skills
  • Proven team player that can interact closely with Danaher tax team, Esko HQ finance and local finance team.
