Position Summary and Overview

The Test Analyst for the India Development Centre (IDC) is responsible for Requirements analysis, test analysis, test procedure authoring and execution, generating test utilities for ePathology scanner products and their external interfaces. The instrument is an automated high precision digital scanner for capturing high magnification/resolution images from pathological samples. The testing activity involves V&V of the embedded software, software applications for the device as well as hardware and hardware in the loop testing of the device.   

 The incumbent will work with the Test Lead, R&D Project Managers, other Test V&V associates and Systems Engineers within Leica to define hardware/software requirements with an emphasis on verifiability/testability and verify/validate software and systems in line with the required user needs, system, quality and regulatory requirements. Furthermore, he/she will work with design engineers to improve verifiability/testability of the system design. 


Major Responsibilities List of Responsibilities/Activities/Duties/Tasks


•         Review and analysis of product requirements. Decomposing system requirements into a comprehensive test plan clearly traceable to those system requirements. This would include a combination of hardware and software tests.

•         Author Test Strategies Plans and Test Reports for medium to large projects

•         Executes tests manually for hardware and software verification

•         Writes, generates scripts for automation, Interfaces and generates Test Utilities

•         Manage the set up and maintenance of various test environments to ensure proper coverage throughout V&V phases. Responsible to ensure the test environment is enough to execute the tests and meets the environmental requirements specified in the tests

•         Ensure QSM processes are adhered to throughout the product development cycle.

•         Provide clear summary of test results and issues to Management.


Job Requirements



Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience/Education 


•         4-year engineering degree (Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent industry experience.

•         A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in Systems Software/Hardware Testing including the application of test processes throughout Product development cycle.

•         Experience in testing automated electro-mechanical and optical instruments/ Medical Imaging devices.

•         Experience with ALM/test case management software such as Quality Center, Jama or SpiraTeam.

•         Experience in use of test automation tools e.g. Selenium, Test Complete or Eggplant

•         Experience in any scripting/ programming language.

•         Experience with Oscilloscope, logic analyzer or other similar measurement tools

Desired Skills/Experience 


•         ISTQB foundation certification or equivalent.

•         Experience in the Medical Device/IVD field with exposure to design control regulations (510K, FDA, ISO13485)

•         Experience in programming in C++

•         Experience in Agile development processes and methodologies.

•         Experience in international projects both as an off-shore and on-shore representative.

•         Experience with any level of Security testing a big plus.

•         Experience in white or grey box testing is a plus.

•         Experience in motion control, camera interface and communication protocols are a plus
