Goal of the Position:

The Supplier Quality Engineer has the leadership of the Supplier Quality Management of the Hoegaarden Manufacturing site covering supplier selection and qualification, supplier evaluation and monitoring but also supplier improvement programs. As such this guarantees that our products are delivered with high quality and outstanding
reliability. The Supplier Quality Engineer acts as a partner with suppliers, customers and members of all departments such as Operations, Sales, Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, R&D teams… but also interacts very closely with other Single-Use Technologies sites to assure alignment.


  • Interface closely with PALL Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, Site Quality and Applications teams to establish subcontractor/supplier quality requirements; 
  • Review and approve purchasing specifications and ensure internal/subcontractor documentation (control plans, …) meets the latest requirements;
  • Establish and maintain Supplier Agreements for critical suppliers;
  • Maintain the Approved Supplier List for the Hoegaarden site;
  • Conduct Supplier Audits as per agreed audit schedule, including follow-up and closure in the SmartAudit system;
  • Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and NPI teams to ensure early engagement in identifying and qualifying new subcontractors/suppliers, or new products with existing subcontractors/suppliers;
  • Continuously monitor key performance indicators for existing subcontractors/suppliers as input for Supplier Monitoring Program and Supplier Business Review;
  • Conduct Supplier review meetings with critical suppliers to review supplier performance and initiate supplier improvement plans;
  • Monitor Supplier CAPA’s to completion to drive supplier improvement, using appropriate Lean tools;
  • Manage the effectiveness of subcontractor/supplier root cause analysis and resolution using appropriate metrics and feedback (SCAR);
  • Support customer complaints related to subcontractors and/or suppliers;
  • Support workshops on Supplier Quality Management with the BU and other BU’s to drive improvement;
  • Manage and coordinate completion of Field Action Risk Assessment (FARA) of supplier induced issues;
  • Manage supplier induced changes and follow-up for completion and successful implementation of the change;
  • Responsible to report and support Pall Hoegaarden supplier PPM metric and associated plans to improve this metric.

Job Requirements


Education, Skills and Competencies:

  • Master’s degree in a scientific field, preferable in Lifesciences (bio, biomedical, chemical,pharma…); 
  • More than 3-5 years relevant experience;
  • Strong working knowledge of quality principles and practices, industry and international regulations and standards;
  • You are familiar with ISO9001 and ISO13485, some knowledge of ISO 15378 is an advantage;
  • Strong communication and presentation skills;
  • Ability to influence in a global, cross-cultural organization;
  • A mindset toward continuous improvement;
  • Proven track record of overcoming obstacles and working under deadlines;
  • Ability to multitask and have problem-solving skills; approaches problems rather analytically rather than jumping to hasty conclusions;
  • Able to make balanced and fair decisions in tough situations with conflicting demands;
  • Coach behaviours and actions that align to the DBS culture and holds teams/individuals accountable;
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English (written & spoken);
  • You are knowledgeable in MS Office and statistical programs;
  • Ability to travel 15-40%, domestic and international.
