Essential Duties, Critical Success Factors, Responsibilities, Authorities and Required Interactions:

• Responsible for the overall supplier development and risk strategy to ensure sustaining objectives for the supply base are met and ensuring preventive strategies are developed to ensure continuous supply of materials for existing production products, and new products, including:

o Devise & implement new part/supplier strategy based on developed format.

o Support the commodity management team in their overall annual objectives to meet KPIs.

o Has ownership of the overall development of part/supplier to the final qualification of part/supplier process management.

o Is the key liaison between SCIEX and its suppliers with responsibility to define and manage strategic processes on new or alternative part and support any disputes arises during the product and part development process.

o Drive forwards the Asia strategy through Supply Chain transfers and consolidation of supplier spend in Asia (where applicable) within the Danaher guidelines.

o Be the point of contact for all difficult and unusual issues that may arise during product or part development stage, ensuring that ownership and accountability are clearly established and communicated to respective functions leaders.

o Be knowledgeable of the industry and the state of the suppliers technological development of specific supply market overall.

o Selects vendors to use in our products, based on technical and business considerations (Vendor Selection Processes) maintaining the overall selection criteria i.e. QUALITY, DELIVERY, COST & INOVATIONS.

o Responsible and accountable to ensure the supplier risk of supply from business continuity point of view and provide and develop risk mitigation plan to address the gaps.

o Identify project for PACT and work with the supplier to meet the requirement.

• Devise and communicates broadly within SCIEX a common Global Supply Chain Strategy which meets the needs of all business areas and sites.

• Support Supplier Quality Management team in resolving quality issues related part developed by the team.

• Ensure compliance of operations within area of concern with all relevant EHS regulatory requirement and SCIEX safety policies, procedures and guidelines.

• Other duties/ ad hoc tasks as assigned.


Job Requirements


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Material Science.

• Commodity Technical Development skills and part manufacturing process experience.

• 5 to 8 years of Supplier and part development Management experience.

• Good negotiator and decision maker.

• Sound judgment and ability to compromise when necessary.

• Knowledge of supply chain management structures - tier 1 systems to lower level commodities.

• Detailed technical and commercial knowledge of at least one Commodity category. Knowledge of a mechanical commodity preferred.

• International management and multi-cultural experience.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for extended periods.

• Ability to influence the organization.
