Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager this position is directly involved with the management of the upstream and downstream value-added flow of materials as they relate to Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Innovation and Cost.

Other duties may be assigned, in addition to those identified below.

Responsible for multiple procurement activities while balancing both site and corporate objectives such as:
  • Responsible for the generation and sustainment of site PPV (cost reduction activities) with assistance to VAVE as required, either through individual, team or cross-functional involvement.
  • Utilizes Danaher Business System (DBS) reporting tools to extrapolate, analyze and interpret data to help assess and deliver results for PPV.
  • Participates and leads workshops for PPV that reviews spending and manufacturing activities to identify ways to reduce costs without sacrificing quality.
  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers which mean: courteous, impartial and objective dealings.  Negotiate price changes through knowledge of commodities assigned and by keeping current of industry competitive situations.
  • Supplier management through a supplier qualification process utilizing Oracle, which may include site visits and audits, that incorporates accepted standards of practice, based on QDCI, to help consider, evaluate and qualify potential supplier candidates.  
  • Approves purchase orders before distributing and reviews and resolves Accounts Payable invoice holds for pricing related issues.
  • Supports buying best practices by assuring best price and quality for all direct material items.
  • Support site audits as required.
  • Maintain site specific Purchasing SOP's.
  • Initiate purchasing related ECR’s and ECO’s as required for projects and design changes. 
  • Stays current on commodity trends in the marketplace.
  • Stays current on commodity trends in the marketplace.
  • Ensures that suppliers are adhering to developed shipping routing guides and/or to established corporate guidance.
  • Responsible for working with Cross-Functional teams to help drive and deliver innovation and new products as assigned, by assisting in implementing strategic cost techniques to minimize upstream exploratory costs and the subsequent costs that will be associated with product sustainment post launch.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, or as required.

Associates Degree in Supply Management, Business, or Operations Management.
Proven self-management and detail oriented skills are a must.
2 Years general business experience. 
2-3 Years purchasing experience.

Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Ability to efficiently and effectively multi-task.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Experience with Oracle is highly desired.
