The Service Business Analyst(SBA) is responsible for ensuring execution and high performance of all tasks and goals assigned by the Sr. Director of Service. The SBA proactively identifies business trends via the generation and use of reports and dashboards within ServiceMax, Noetix, Oracle, etc,  The SBA is responsible for driving reporting requests, report generation and the quality of the reporting/business analysis provided to the America’s service leadership team.  The SBA collaborates with other Business Analyst/Reporting team members and stakeholders to provide quality reporting, data and analysis to the team.
The SBA is also responsible to work closely with Services Team to develop and maintain the reporting suite and other tools essential to the financial performance and it's monitoring. Running, developing, maintaining reports on commercial as well as Operations relevant KPIs is also part of the role.  Includes ensuring updated Service bowler.   The SBA will be POC for reporting Power users and establish regular cadence of meetings to ensure accurate analysis of reporting data and business analysis

  • Proactively uses reports/dashboards within all reporting/data systems to identify business trends.
  • Obtains feedback from district managers/directors to better improve reports and dashboards
  • Partners with Service leaders to drive business recommendations by way of business analytics
  • Is focal point for all reporting needs, along with Finance, to drive quality data for Kaizens & PSPs 
  • Is lead for Reporting/Data field Power Users
  • Collaborates with team members and stakeholders to provide updates, coordinate resources, and suggest process improvements.
  • Uses information regarding key accounts to provide business recommendations/alerts
  • Working closely with the Global Services Reporting Team and the JAPAC Service Leaders to develop and maintain operational metrics that support P&L impact for SCIEX’s Global Service team. This includes recurring and ad-hoc, detailed and driven investigation of business issues, proposal of solutions. Participation or taking the business lead as part of DBS initiatives is expected to drive analysis and business improvement.
  • Running, developing, maintaining reports on commercial as well as Operations relevant KPIs
  •  Gathering requirements, design, develop and modify reporting solutions using various data extraction and output methods to support daily operations as well as company initiatives.
  •  Helping to design and maintain business processes that allow the business to run effectively through net meaningful metrics that steer the company to success. Along with the development of the reports, analysis and understanding of the information, the SPS is expected to assist in decision support.
  •  The SBA works closely with the Portfolio Development / Market Development Manager (MDM) and supports analysis and reporting requirements on a recurring and ad-hoc basis.

Job Skills
  • Highly organized with a strong analytical approach to issues.
  • Excellent communicative and social skills. Good verbal and written command of the English language. Able to communicate in Mandarin is a plus.
  • Excellent mediation and moderation skills, a powerful persuader.
  • Commercial focus and good understanding of tools and requirements in Service functions.
  • Proficient with reporting/Business Intelligence tools (preferably Business Objects, OBIE, SFDC, Oracle, Noetix, Hyperion, SQL, and Excel.
  • Excellent data analysis skills (ability to take a business question and do thorough data analysis and distill the info down to a business audience in a clear and understandable manner)
  • Ability to automate repetitive tasks using Excel VBA Macros or other offline scripting tools such as Python.
Job Knowledge
  • Strong familiarity with a wide range of Sciex products.
  • Familiarity with standard safe laboratory practices.
  • Knowledge of service business and associated back-end processes.
  •  Oracle Knowledge
  • Good understanding of SFDC
  • Understanding of CRM tools such as SMAX would be a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high performing team.
  • Must be able to travel within assigned geography, up to 20% travel at times. Some international travel may be required.
  • Quick learner and capable of working under time constraints.
  • Ability to articulate business reality in a very concise way.


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of Sciex experience is a plus
  • Job duties may be performed in field locations, generally within assigned territory but occasionally may extend to other territories.
