Our team is looking to add another smart Senior Software Engineer (who will report to a Software Manager at IDC) to our outstanding team, with primary responsibility to architect, design and develop our current and next generation of laboratory software systems. The team is responsible for a product that includes a UI, database and embedded software, requiring you to know a lot of different technologies and concepts about the system. The instrument is much more interesting to test then just your typical software application because you are working with an instrument. The final, and definitely the most important, part of the position is we work on a product where failure is not an option. People depend on our product to make life saving decisions so we put in the effort and discipline upfront so we can sleep every night knowing our customers, and ultimately patients, are getting a product you can trust your life with. 


o Guide team with extensive knowledge of technical principals, theories, and concepts in Software Development field. 
o Develop software requirements from product requirements. 
o Create architecture, design, code and unit test modules/components. 
o Conduct and participate in design, code and test reviews and inspections, ensuring application of software engineering best practices, as well as the feasibility, efficacy and compliance to functional and regulatory standards. 
o Develop, maintain and communicate status of the project. 
o Collaborate with software V&V team, the functional manager, project manager, distributed, cross-functional teams to ensure products meet quality, performance, scalability, reliability and schedule goals. 
o Investigate software, hardware, and system problems using a variety of techniques and provides innovative solutions. 
o Prepare appropriate documentation as required by internal product development processes and regulatory agencies such as FDA and ISO.

o Is a team player. o Has a strong work ethic. 
o Works as a team member in the spirit of Agile or Lean Engineering. 


o B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field. 
o 9+ years of experience in software development for commercial products, preferably electromechanical instruments. 
o Mandatory - 6+ years of experience in developing software using C#.Net, WPF 
o Mandatory- 6+ years of experience designing software components using OOA/OOD methodologies preferable. 
o Mandatory- Solid experience architecting, designing and developing .NET-based solutions with good depth of knowledge in WPF. 
o Experience in developing medical device software and working knowledge of FDA Quality Systems Regulation is desirable. 
o Experience in building data presentation layers for large complex data sets. 
o Lead architecture aspects of software development with strong emphasis on OOAD, layered application development, domain driven design, architecture design patterns
o Experience with real-time transaction processing and data persistence using an SQL database, as well as low-level, nuts and bolts Windows expertise, are pluses 
o Experience with embedded software development is a plus. 
o Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server is a plus. 
o Experience in Agile software development process is a plus. 
o Experience with reverse engineering is a plus. 
o Ability to travel as needed (minimal).
