Description

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Plan and manufacture multi-step organic syntheses intermediates and products; maintain thorough documentation of experimental procedures and results through manufacturing batch records
• Independently prioritize own work assignments, and consistently demonstrate the ability to perform assigned tasks in manufacturing setting
• Update manufacturing SOPs as required through process validation and design change procedures 
• Maintain a high level of productivity in the laboratory setting
• Demonstrate ability to resolve the manufacturing issues through effective problem solving 
• Maintain a safe, pleasant and efficient work environment.
• May lead 3-5 manufacturing associates

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Requirements
• MS in Organic Chemistry with minimum 6 years of relevant experience in industrial setting is preferred or will consider a BS in Organic Chemistry with minimum 10 years of relevant experience in industrial setting
• 5- 7 years of experience with laboratory bench to include synthesis, purification and analysis of organic compounds 
• Work experience in DNA base modification Chemistry/Cyanine Dyes Chemistry/Heterocyclic Chemistry is preferred
• Strong background in theory and practice of synthetic organic chemistry, modern analytical techniques, and excellent problem-solving skills 
• Experience in cGMP Environment 
• Experience with Process Validation, non-conformance investigation 
• Demonstrated excellence in clear cross-functional collaboration and communication in team settings
• Demonstrated ability to work in a high paced manufacturing team environment to meet on time product delivery deadlines
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
• Ability to demonstrate Cost-control management mindset
• Proven track to lead other associates

Special Requirement: 
• This position is for Carlsbad site of Beckman Coulter, however, selected candidate will be required to work in Orange Country site of Beckman Coulter for a period of time while the manufacturing site is transitioned to Carlsbad, CA.
