Due to continued growth, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Software Engineer and a Mid-Level Software Engineer with commercial Python experience to join our software team. 
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated software engineer to join a medical device company and help improve patient outcomes.   
You will be working on a large business critical project that will impact millions of people’s lives.
As a Senior Python Developer  you will be responsible for but not limited to:
  • Design, Develop and Test software in compliance with the applicable standards and regulations
  • Investigate and analyse software related issues 
  • Develop and contribute to technical documentation
  • Define technical procedures 
  • Maintain & configure development and test environments 
  • Provide technical leadership for other software engineers
  • Provide detailed effort estimates for software design implementation.
  • Provide feedback through development reviews

Job Requirements


About you:  

Successful candidates will meet the following mandatory requirements, and some of the desirable requirements (depending on experience level).

Key skills/experience required:

  • Expert knowledge of writing Python and using associated tools (in a professional capacity)
  • Graduate or post-graduate qualifications in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
  • A Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in Software Development including exposure to the full software development life cycle
  • Implementation experience with software development technologies subject to project needs.  
  • Experience in software solution design including experience in applying Object Oriented Analysis and Design techniques and patterns.
  • Experience in developing applications using one of Microsoft Platforms (including Windows Desktop & Server), Linux or RTOS environments
  • Experience in the use of Configuration Management Systems such as Git and Subversion.
  • A solid understanding of the software development life cycle and applicable best practice design control procedures including experience in applying Object Oriented Analysis and Design techniques. 
  • Strong verbal, documentation and communication skills.

Highly favourable skills:

  • Experience in Software development in a regulated environment (e.g.: IEC62304, DO-178B or similar)
  • Design documentation using UML
  • Experience with Continuous Integration servers (e.g.: Jenkins, TeamCity)
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum and Lean methodologies
