Leica Biosystems is seeking an experienced eCommerce manager and Digital marketer. As an eCommerce Senior Manager you will drive the growth of the eCommerce channel revenue for This position will play a leading role in shaping and enabling our ecommerce strategy. Beyond just shaping a strategy (which is part of the role), this person will drive execution on a tactical level and be required to deliver additional value to the company in the form of increased customer reach, sales, contribution margins and customer retention. This person will also work cross functionally to improve the end-to-end e-Commerce user experience through the implementation of elite digital solutions.

This role will be part of the Global Marketing Organization and serve as a strategic eCommerce partner to the Leica Biosystems Selling Units.

Major Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall management of the organization’s ecommerce channel - develop and implement eCommerce strategies while ensuring strategies align with the overall business model
  • Lead the eCommerce customer adoption and acquisition campaigns to increase usage of the channel for existing customers as well as attract new customers.
  • Project lead and coordinate eCommerce shopping campaigns with SEO and Paid Advertising teams to deliver on revenue goals
  • Report results and eCommerce change recommendations to key stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Be responsible for the onsite merchandising strategy in consultation with the Selling Unit (Regional) Marketing Managers. Work closely with the SU marketing team to develop and execute against the online merchandising strategy, including selecting feature products and presenting a curated offering.
  • Implement cross-sell and up-sell programs to improve AOV (Average order value) as well as increase adoption within the current customer base.
  • Improve the existing online shopping experience and deliver a best-in-class experience. This includes significantly improving visitor to customer conversions, revenue, customer engagement and retention.
  • Maintain site navigation structure, taxonomy, on-site search and SEO optimizations to provide the most optimal customer experience and ensure the right products are easy to find.
  • Provide ongoing A/B testing to continually improve upon customer experience, site content and conversions.

Job Requirements


What experience will you need?

  • 8-10 years of relevant corporate eCommerce and digital marketing experience
  • Experience running and growing eCommerce channel revenue
  • Shown experience developing and handling B2B eCommerce campaigns for adoption within the existing customer base.
  • Experience in new customer acquisition initiatives for the ecommerce channel including selling through third party marketplaces.
  • Demonstrates a high level of competence and passion for eCommerce technology and a comprehensive understanding of merchandising (upsell & cross sell strategies).
  • Extensive knowledge of B2B and B2C e-Commerce standard methodologies and strategies.
  • Ability to influence multiple teams within an eCommerce environment such as IT, customer Service, UX, Sales Operations, marketing and sales.
  • Proficiency in data gathering using SQL and reporting.
  • Knowledge of supply chain systems (such as SAP) and middleware integration is required
  • Knowledge of building business cases is a plus
  • Knowledge of web analytics is a plus
  • Knowledge of SEO methodologies and implementation is a plus

Desired Education, Experience, Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Business or Marketing. MBA is a plus.
