The Manager Scientific Communications is in charge of all communication activities that document, transmit and support the company’s scientific evidence and reputation. He/she acts as gatekeeper, and manages the informational flow of all scientific communication on Nobel Biocare products and solutions, ensuring alignment with the company strategy, identified must wins and innovation themes. He/she defines and identifies the scientific key messages, annual plan, budget and key projects needed to achieve the scientific communications goals. The Manager Scientific Communications works closely with internal stakeholders such as the company’s various Research and Science departments, Product Development, the commercial organization including Business Units, Product Management, Sales & Marketing, Regulatory Affairs and market representatives. He/she works closely with external stakeholders such as KOLs, inventors, scientific study counterparts and other members from the scientific community.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to annual plans and budget for Scientific Communications projects to support launch and PCLM products.

  • Identify, initiate, plan, prepare, write and control all product/solution related scientific messages, issues, stories and material, online as well as offline.

  • Ensure consistency in scientific messaging, scientific accuracy, information quality and scientific references within all product communications material.

  • Work with internal stakeholders in the scientific field to ensure the correct and appropriate content is delivered timely to meet publication goals and deadlines.

  • Cooperate with external scientists and experts to drive the publication and promotion of scientific materials and data created to support Nobel Biocare products and solutions.

  • Cooperate with external vendors, agencies, publishers, editors and other stakeholders for publication of scientific material.

  • Investigate, conceptualize and provide convincing articles supporting the scientific evidence of the company and its products & solutions.

  • Ensure that scientific material meet established internal and external (e.g. regulatory, best practice) scientific standards.

  • Support local subsidiaries in consistent management of scientific messages, standards and proper use of editorial texts for local purposes (including providing ready-to-use standard texts and best-practice tips).

Job Requirements


  • PhD in a life science or MSc with substantial directly related experience.

  • Fluency in English, spoken and written. Knowledge of German is an asset.

  • Able to concisely convert scientific data into credible messages and communications.

  • 3–5 years of industry professional experience with pharma, biotechnology or scientific communications agency.

  • Experience with interpretation of clinical and pre-clinical data and generation of science-based communications materials.

  • Experience developing and reviewing scientific content including: slides, abstracts, posters, etc.

  • Proven writing and editing track record.

  • Strong leadership of external vendors, briefing, monitoring, guiding and managing for delivery of high quality materials within budget.

  • Proven project management experience (budget / timing / leadership / on-time delivery). 

  • Superior organizational, verbal and written communication skills in English scientific language, including the ability to communicate effectively.

  • Thorough understanding of communications planning.

  • Ability to manage numerous projects, requests, and responsibilities.

  • Ability to monitor evolving scientific data and competitor / industry developments.
