Description

As an R&D scientist, you will be responsible for executing the project plan activities for assigned new product development projects while insuring compliance to design control processes and external regulatory guidelines.  You will also initiate and perform studies of complex issues and innovative ideas that may feed into new products/projects

• Design and Development of Histology Consumable products.
• Achieving milestones of stage gate development process
• Maintain quality standards of FDA, ISO, GLP and GMP.
• Transfer of design from development to manufacturing
• Participate in design change and manufacturing cost improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Material Science or Chemistry.  Preference given to Advanced Degree

• Minimum of three years of R&D experience in academic, medical device or pharmaceutical environments with diagnostic products (Leica BioScience/Danaher experience is preferred).
• Experience in preparation of controlled studies, protocols, statistical analysis and report writing.  
• Knowledge of DOE and problem-solving methods desired.
• A proven track record of contributing to new product development projects from design through manufacturing as a research scientist.
• Stage gate design control experience in highly regulated development and manufacturing environments preferred
• Knowledge of GMP/GLP, FDA and ISO 13485 requirements as they pertain to in vitro medical devices.
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Capable of working effectively independently or in a team environment in order to meet goals and objectives.
• Travel: Less than 10%, must be able to travel internationally
