We are currently seeking a Regulatory Affairs & Trade Compliance Manager for Mumbai location.

Purpose of this Position:

The  Regulatory Affairs & Trade Compliance Manager would be responsible for ensuring 100% compliance is maintained for the organization with respect to external regulatory requirements applying to the business and ensuring internal policies and processes are aligned to be 100% complaint sustainably and consistently.

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Interpret regulations affecting the operation of the organization (including distributors) and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and regulatory reporting requirements in support of process compliance and product quality
• Monitor and keep track of changes in government policies, rules and regulations and other government matters related to the company operations. 
• Work with external agencies and consultants to seek expert guidance on regulatory matters. Pro-actively co-ordinate and work with regulatory authorities for seeking clarity and interpretation on regulatory requirements
• Regulatory aspects include amongst others, import and exports, warehousing, hazardous material handling and transportation, licenses/ permits/ NOCs from various government authorities
• Some of government agencies to liaison with Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization (PESO), Controller of Legal Metrology, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), State industrial corporations like MIDC, GIDC etc, Fire department
• Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with potential violations of legal guidelines, internal policies, environmental guidelines etc.
• Process, conduct and track investigations and compliance audits for regulatory audits internally.  
• Oversee compliance program and promote compliant culture.  Responsible for compliance reporting and training from all regulatory and EHS points.  
• Set up a robust EHS system and culture for the organization. Manage safety and industrial hygiene programs and ensuring audit readiness
• Advise other functions and co-ordinate with them to comply with specific regulatory requirements including application for licenses, permits etc.
• Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously
• Revise procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues
• Maintain transparent oversight of all regulatory activities. Monitor the progress, status and time lines of submissions, including global KPIs as requested.
• Maintain registration license database and of local regulatory requirements.
• Maintain local regulatory procedures and templates, as needed.
• Maintain oversight and keep control of all costs related to registrations, including regulatory consultants and other regulatory related activities

Job Requirements


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Ten plus years of experience in regulatory compliance in multinational companies (Headquartered in the US preferred)
• Working knowledge of Indian laws
• Thorough understanding and application knowledge of regulatory guidelines and requirement
• Extensive experience working with govt. agencies as mentioned in the JD
• Excellent analytical, organizational and presentation skills
