Description

Purpose
of Position

This is
a regional sales role focused on expanding Aquafine sales, marketing presence
& market share in North America. In general, ensures strong visibility to
available UV market opportunities, and ensures sales funnels are strongly
maintained and strategically managed.

Key Responsibilities

Planning


•        
Regularly
assesses market size, Aquafine competitiveness, Aquafine market share,
strategies of competitors, etc.


•        
Provides
regular progress updates and forecasts vis a vis monthly sales goals


•        
Remains
current with respect to regulatory bodies and water treatment regulations affecting UV applications


•        
Effective
liaison with Manager to create sales structure which matches marketplace opportunity, executing in accordance with the
Marketing Strategy plan


•        
Takes
a leading role in maintaining current assessments of the geographic market
profiles


•        
Provides
input/ advise on future commercial organization for assigned territory, both
for sales & service

 

Sales
Activities


•        
Regularly
visits prospective OEMs, distributors, water treatment companies, consulting
engineers, contractors, trade offices, etc. to identify and close sales opportunities for UV water treatment equipment


•        
Advises
clients, offices and representatives about all aspects of UV treatment
applications in industrial markets


•        
Assists
in supporting/achieving sales growth targets with Key, Corporate Account
offices located in the individual geographic assignments


•        
Creates
and/or supports the creation of offers/quotes/bids


•        
Develops/maintains
fact-based understanding of market pricing for UV products


•        
Remains
thoroughly familiar with all Aquafine products, related specifications, value
selling propositions, etc.


•        
Pursues
all opportunities for aftermarket parts sales


•        
Attends
shows, industry events, etc. as required to represent  Aquafine


•        
Develops,
promotes & applies innovative ways of selling UV products
(merchandising/packaging, market based pricing, appropriate risk based sizing,
etc.)


•        
Presents
papers, lectures, etc. at seminars, conferences & customer events on both
an individual basis and together with other Aquafine Sales Managers/reps


•        
Tracks
all emerging projects identified, quoted or bid, and their ongoing status


•        
Ensures
that relevant sales quoting/tracking tools are properly used and regularly
maintained with current information


•        
Provides
technical support at meetings with the environmental agencies and other
regulatory bodies and monitors compliance with local regulations and laws


•        
Undertakes
VOC type exercises with OEMs/Distributors/ End Users

 

 Distributor
management (channel management)


•        
Provides
training & support to channel partners in the matter of value selling,
sizing & designing UV applications


•        
Insists
that channel partners follow Aquafine/Trojan selling/approval policies re
pricing, approval levels, terms, value selling, etc.


•        
Ensures
strong relationship performance management with the channel partners in the
assigned region


•        
Maintains
close information/cooperative relationships with other Danaher companies in the
Water Quality Group

Local
Administration


•        
Responsible
for local operational cost control (managing expenses within budget
constraints)

Qualifications

Background
and Skill




•        
B.S.
or equivalent in Engineering is preferred. Alternate science degrees will be
considered.




•        
Skilled
in application and market-specific questioning techniques that uncover new
sales opportunities.




•        
5-7
years sales & management experience in water treatment industry (with
technical background)




•        
Suitable
engineering degree




•        
Experience
in managing (project) sales through 3rd parties (agents), and in motivating
a group of sales reps and/or agents




•        
Strong
experience with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint




•        
Strong
experience with Sales Force dot com




•        
General
understanding of & experience with Value Selling processes




•        
Strong
written & oral English language proficiency, with working proficiency in
Spanish




•        
Demonstrated
relational and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate with
learners from various technical backgrounds: i.e., discussion leading,
questioning, responding and fielding skills




•        
Excellent
verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relate well to
both the customer, and to all levels of the organization




•        
60%
travel within the geography and to Valencia offices for training &
consultation events




•        
Must
have a valid driver’s license and a good motor vehicle driving record.
