Description

JOB SUMMARY: 
The Project Manager, Operations runs internal Operations projects and represents Operations in assigned product launch projects. For launch projects, the project manager coordinates key Logistics and Planning activities for the phasing in and out of products on a project basis. For internal projects the project manager identifies, develops and manages initiatives which drive service and reduce costs. This role will ensure robust plans are in place to meet deliverables in assigned projects.  Projects are aimed at, but not limited to, assortment change as well as process development and re-engineering work in the areas of warehouse management, transportation, labeling, packaging and order fulfillment processes.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Manage a portfolio of projects / initiatives, running in parallel, ensuring stakeholder alignment
  • Successfully deliver each project per specification, on time and at budgeted cost
  • Be the key point of contact for all Operations related activities in the phasing in and out of products (assortment change) on a project basis
  • Centrally plan and coordinate all Planning and Logistics activities for the phasing in and out of products for assigned projects
  • Ensure optimum product availability for the successful launch of new products in line with launch plans and followed up monthly by KPIs
  • Main project manager and feel ownership for projects related to Operations 
  • Quickly learn and apply the standard tools and processes implemented in the department
  • Maintain up-to-date status of relevant documentation and monitoring in a transparent manner
  • Continuously improve, develop and implement, together with stakeholders, global, robust and harmonized processes for the phasing in and out of products
  • Interact with Operations functions, Launch teams, R&D and Business Units. Identify, develop and manage initiatives which drive service and reduce supply chain costs
  • Persistently apply DBS tools like PSP, TPI, Kaizen and other LEAN tools where suitable
  • Frequent requestor of master data changes in ERP System

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  
  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 5+ years’ experience in Project Management managing multiple projects, at the same time, in an operational environment: PMP certification preferred.
  • 3+ years working with ERP and Master Data systems
  • 2+ years experience working with cross-functional teams required 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English required
  • Strong communication and organization skills i.e. a well-organized and structured individual
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills + good business acumen
  • Must understand the links and connections between the supply chain, phase in/out, master data, product development and sales; Six sigma experience preferred.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:
  • Ability to run a project from concept to conclusion i.e. outlining goals, project phases, timelines, resources, budget and activities as well as monitoring progress, taking corrective actions and escalating issues on a timely basis thus ensuring project objectives and deadlines are met. 
  • Comfortable working in matrix organizations across multiple functions and geographies

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:  
  • Master’s Degree is Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance or Engineering
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification 
  • Experience managing multiple projects, at the same time, in a global context
