Description


To support and develop production assembly and test processes for a new medical device project so that the quality of shipped product meets all the relevant design and regulatory requirements and there is a system in place to facilitate/implement ongoing improvements.

Major Responsibilities
• Achieve full compliance to relevant standards applied to factory processes and production
• Prepare and iterate PFMECAs and implement risk mitigation
• Develop and iterate PCPs for sub-assemblies and instrument build and test
• Complete prototype assembly and train production staff, support process validation
• Analyse failures and faults from prototype builds and implement corrective actions
• Measure assembly times and take actions to improve process productivity targets
• Develop the testing plan including the phase out of identified tests
• Develop, procure and document assembly aids
• Support DHR preparation and automation and the completion of other DHFR artefacts to support the project.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Essential:
• Tertiary/Degree qualified (Production/ Electro-mechanical Discipline)
• 4+ years production engineering experience in an electro-mechanical production environment.
• Ability to develop/establish/Document assembly and test processes for production including sub level, and final testing.
• Ability to write/support software programs for test control and reporting.
• Strong interpersonal skills to be able to support the “shop floor”, work with product development to define manufacturing assembly and test requirements and provide technical guidance to other Engineers.
• Strong problem solving skills to identify and implement improvements to internal systems and processes and diagnose instrument failures.
Highly Desirable:
• Medical device or high part count manufacturing experience
• Experience with process monitoring, statistical process control or other continuous improvement and lean methodologies.
• Programming experience with Python, Visual Basic, C++ or  Labview
• Experience with ERP systems, BOMs structures and production routings
