Purpose of the job

Product specialist is a key specialist for different product lines within Beckman Coulter organization with primary tasks in training, application and marketing support. The supporting function includes overall product support in post sales activities such as training, hot line and application support, as well as marketing and pre sales supportive activities. Product Specialist plays an important role in ensuring customer satisfaction as well as the overall company’s efficiency.

Main Roles and responsibilities:

1. Training

  • Support the training plan and provide training tools
  • Deliver adequate training to improve the competencies of personnel of our Customers
  • Keep records of training conducted and monitor training effectiveness
  • Maintain and upgrade training material
  • Deliver programs, presentations to ensure full understanding of product positioning and company philosophy

2. Post Sales Activities

  • Provide application and troubleshooting support to customers within territory of Republic of Croatia
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with Customers in territory of Republic of Croatia
  • Coordinate and distribute all new software updates packages and monitor implementation
  • Monitor product performance, market acceptance and competitive activities
  • Conduct regular customer visits
  • Interface with Customer Administration Support, Logistics and Regulatory/Quality/Sales department for all product information ordering and quality issues
  • Maintain customer database (SFDC)

3. Pre Sales Activities and Marketing

  • Provide presentation on products, product positioning and competitive information
  • Collect product and competitive information on a regular basis
  • Provide detailed product support to sales for tenders specifications, contracts and offers
  • Follow up market development in IVD area
  • Develop and maximize relationship with a key customers to help product sales
  • Contribute customer meetings and sales activities
  • Propose, conduct and participate in specialized conferences, exhibitions and seminars
  • Provide product information requested by Regulatory department
  • Check translation of product information/manuals
  • Assist in evaluations at customer sites of new products
  • Assist in creation of marketing/sales tools
  • Assist in planning and forecasting

Job Requirements


  • Degree in Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Diagnostic, Food Technology and Biotechnology (biochemistry) or Molecular Biology
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Croatian

  • Experience in clinical laboratory diagnostics is an advantage

  • Familiar with a Lab processes

  • Strong communication and organizational capabilities

  • Strong ability to train and create enthusiasm about a diagnostic product

  • Team orientation

  • Able to adapt to and embraces different cultures

  • Logical and creative thinker, fast learner

  • A self-motivated and flexible person who is willing to travel with valid driving license

  • Computer skills in Power Point, Excel, Word and E-Mail programs
