Description

The Product Manager develops and implements product line marketing activities for the purpose of maximizing product line sales and profitability for Devicor Medical Products, Inc. The Product Manager works closely with the Marketing Team to create a comprehensive and integrated product and procedure strategy.  This position will have a heavier focus on helping to build out the product portfolio that we use to grow our business in Asia (primarily China.)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES):

Delivers on Current Year Business Plan
  • Collaborates on development and implementation of marketing strategy (positioning, place, price and promotion).
  • Works with cross functional key partners in Sales, Professional Education, Clinical, Marketing Communications, Corporate Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, etc. to develop and implement marketing plans to achieve forecast, maximize revenue, profitability and procedure adoption.
  • Develops and drives achievement of annual product sales and procedure growth within assigned area.
  • Actively spends time with customers, internal and field visits, to ensure alignment of marketing plans to fulfill customer and market needs and to ensure strong customer insights.
  • Participates in major marketing initiatives as assigned to enhance overall function of Marketing organization (i.e., cost and efficiency, convention strategy, ROI improvements, etc.).
  • Works with Operations Management to plan and communicate production and inventory needs based on annual product sales forecasts and monthly updates.
  • Supports Field Sales Organization on highly technical product inquiries.
  • Provides appropriate product information, including technical date and product availability information, CAPA.
  • Ensures effective launch of new products within assigned brands.
  • Provides Field Sales Organization with tools to execute business plans to Region.
  • Supports Global Marketing Organization through sharing key strategies and marketing materials to global partners.
  • Ensures Future Growth
  • Contributes to Business Plan input, new product development, and execution.
  • Collaborates with internal and external business partners to develop marketing plans to deliver on future pipeline growth.
  • Understands specific needs of customers and key regional partners in Asia (primarily China) to help grow the Chinese business for the long-term.
  • Responsible for new product forecasts.
  • Identifies and provides key needs for new products/solutions to partner from VOC, evidence generation, etc.
  • Leadership
  • Participates in PPG discussions/presentations to align market needs with strategic resources, development runways and rationalized product roadmap.
  • Leads activities across Marketing Team to develop functional competencies (marketing competencies and GLP growth).
  • Actively shares and collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure best practice sharing, efficiency and effectiveness of marketing resources.
  • Accountable for personal developmental plan and review with supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of the Healthcare Industry. Understanding of key business issues that exist in the medical device and healthcare industries, i.e. health care economics and trends, state and local laws, regulatory requirements. 

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years’ B2B experience within a Marketing, Business Development, Engineering, Sales or Clinical role 
  • Previous product management experience required.

Desired Skills/Experience:  

Industry experience in healthcare, medical device or pharmaceuticals 

Education 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field equivalent required.
  • MBA preferred but not required.

Travel Requirements
  • Must be able to travel up to 35% of the time; both domestic and international travel may be required.
  • Typical work-related travel assignments range 3-5 days, and as such overnight, out-of-town stays are required.
  • Because this role focuses in part on Asia (primarily China) this role has more frequent international travel required with typical trip duration in the range of 5-10 days with longer out-of-town stays required.

Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, most work is in an office environment setting.  Lighting and temperature are adequate.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
May be requested to work overtime and weekends for special program events
