We are seeking a customer-focused Electrical Engineering student to help us document our product compliance for product safety, electromagnetic compatibility, environmental and packaging programs.  In addition, we are looking for a candidate to design, integrate and document automated user interface technologies for our testing laboratory in support of our world-class, state-of-the-art analytical instruments.  Emphasis will be on developing compliance documentation within a product development environment.  In this capacity, the candidate will work with high-performance, multi-disciplinary teams participating in all phases of product development, including product commercialization and concept realization with our engineering and scientific community.  The individual will also perform problem-solving activities through collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines, while following established guidelines, procedures and design practices.

  • Collaborate with engineering, research & scientific community membership to generate compliance documentation targeting current and future products.
  • Support Compliance Specialists to identify suitable compliance documentation and perform analyses to show design compliance in support of technical files.
  • Support the creation of compliance test plans & procedures for test verification activities.
  • Assist or lead the build of user interfaces to automate testing.
  • Develop and document product documentation for electronic modules and automated test fixtures with documentation guidelines.
  • Work closely with multiple product development groups throughout the product development process (ex. Firmware, Software, Systems Engineering, Hardware verification and validation, Manufacturing Engineering).
  • Provide technical support for released products to improve field reliability.
  • Work within an ISO 9001/13485 environment to improve business/department-level productivity.
  • Work within a Lean Six Sigma/DFSS framework to improve business/department-level productivity (emphasis on cost reduction and removal of non-value-added steps)


Job Requirements


  • Minimum completion of 2 years towards a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Knowledge of analog & mixed-signal circuits design and integration is a strong asset.
  • Candidate must be proactive, results-oriented, self-motivated and willing to be part of a larger team working in collaboration with senior engineers.
  • Candidate must have strong organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relevant courses that will be a strong asset include the following: Electromagnetism, Communications, Electronic Circuits / Electronics, Linear Systems and Control, Electromagnetic Fields, Controls, Computer Programming
  • Relevant Summer Job, University or Personal Project Experience.
