Description

You will be responsible for the creation, sustainment, and continuous improvement of mainly R&D related processes which are not covered by the department managers. As Danaher Business System Leader (DBSL) you are as well promoting and facilitating the successful implementation of the Danaher Business System at Beckman in Munich.

The ideal candidate loves to work on processes together with the team, is able to understand different views and finds the perfect balance between a lean and compliant process definition. To be successful in this role, you need to pair strong analytical skills and a data-driven outlook with great communication skills. This position requires deep focus on our business, strong self-motivation and exceptional project management skills.

Core Responsibilities as Process Manager:

  • Understand business, organizational and regulatory boundaries

  • Build process expertise

  • Understand user needs

  • Create, sustain and improves process descriptions

  • Drive modification of affected tools and templates

  • Provide process expertise, training and best practice to all process users

  • Get connected to other Beckman Business Units and Danaher OpCos

  • Contribute to audit initiatives and lead results-driven action planning

 Core Responsibilities as DBSL:

  • Assist site / company Leadership in the development of a Danaher Business Systems roadmap

  • Provide formal and informal Danaher Business Systems training and coaching to associates

  • Assist in achieving business unit Policy Deployment and Strategic Plan objectives

  • Regularly participate in Daily Management reviews

  • Help Danaher continue the evolution of the DBS tools

  • Benchmark and incorporate best practices

  • Responsible for R&D and other functions located in Munich

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Must be hands-on and detail-oriented but also able to see the big picture. Need to be able to think strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint. Must be very customer focused and have strong interpersonal and communications skills. Will need to be a quick study who can rapidly adapt to Danaher’s culture and gain the confidence of the Danaher organization. This person will be highly motivated and able to handle conflicts. Will be an independent worker, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations. 

Most Important Competencies:

  • Teamwork - must be able to lead a team(s) of employees from multiple disciplines

  • Ability to influence others - must be able to inform, convince, and persuade others to action on key initiatives

  • Results orientation - must deliver results

  • Technical excellence - must possess the technical skills necessary to be seen as credible in Danaher by peers and managers (technical excellence will either be in Lean or Growth related areas depending on the functional areas they support).

  • Communication - must be able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms

Education and/or Experience:

  • 4-7 years of Operations or Engineering experience

  • BS or BA Degree in Business or Engineering required; Master’s Degree preferred

  • Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a “general manager’s” point of view

  • Ability to design, develop, and implement a DBS roadmap for an operating business

  • Superior communications skills

  • Superior training skills and adult learning theory

  • Superior consulting/influencing skills

  • Good writing and administrative skills, including computer skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
