The ideal candidate will possess well rounded skills in injection molding and a solid background in process engineering, team and individual problem solving, technical communication, lean/Six Sigma manufacturing practices, and process documentation. The candidate will be responsible for development and implementation powder injection molding processes as well as secondary operations both domestically and abroad.

  • Support Product Development Engineering with design for manufacturability on new concepts/prototypes, new products, and major design changes.
  • Responsible for working closely with other engineers, mold makers, and production associates to manage process development, product changes, and process improvements.
  • Project management, meeting schedule agenda, minute follow-up on assigned task.
  • Documentation and relocation of existing operations to other facilities internally and externally.
  • Establish new alloys and new processes including the documentation and procedure development.
  • Maintain and revises Engineering Document (ECR), generate (SOP)
  • Provide training to supervisory personal in the proper use and operation of engineering documents and /or tooling implementation.
  • Establishes, modifies, implements, and monitors systems and procedures to enhance timely and efficient workflow.
  • Engineering driven contributions to design and process change in support of continuous improvement and/or Lean/Six Sigma practices while maintaining critical product quality attributes.
  • Develop product cost estimates, and project cost and time estimates.
  • Document and control all CAD related to tooling and fixtures
  • Provide technical input for capital appropriation requests.
  • Design and conduct experiments to validate product quality and consistency.
  • Regular reporting of progress to the engineering team, both verbally and through written reports.
  • Work closely with both external and internal tool shops on new tool fabrication and/or repair/replacement.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineer studies preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing/process engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience with computer-Aided Engineering / Design / Drafting (CAE / CADD / FEA), proficiency with SolidWorks required.
  • Hands on experience with products that require welding, machining, fabrication and assembly.
  • Experience working with biocompatible materials.
    • Fundamental understanding of injection molding and experience working with molds for small high precision parts.
    • Fundamental understanding and experience with robots, PLC’s and temperature controllers.
  • Excellent mechanical/mechanism design fixture for high volume.
  • Experience with vacuum furnaces a plus.                                        
  • Ability to research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements based on fundamental engineering principles.
  • Ability to apply Lean techniques to streamline and improve all manufacturing processes in support of part production and quality manufacturing goals.
  • Ability to establish and coordinate the maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule, and supply of materials required to maintain machines and production processes in an efficient manner.
  • A team player who can work well under constrained deadlines and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Follows directions well and is a self-starter in identifying what is critical to the success of the project. 
  • Possess excellent technical judgment and able to set logical action plans for process trouble shooting and risk mitigation.

  • Competent with use of personal computers and related software is desirable, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project is required.
  • Excellent communications skills in written, oral and technically are required.
  • Ability to speak, and read a foreign language is a plus, English/Spanish Bilingual preferred.
