Description

Administer payroll for 500+ employees in North America.  Administrator is accountable for the accurate and timely processing and auditing of payroll.  Develop, communicate and maintain payroll policies and procedures within Federal and State guidelines.

Administer bi-weekly and weekly, multi-state payroll, including commission, bonus, payroll changes, new hires, terminations, salary increases, bonus, and calculation of retro pay.  Run audit reports and ensure 100% compliance to one-over-one approvals for any payments.

Administer time and attendance collection (E-Time) for data necessary to process payroll including data entry, mileage, vacation benefits and other re-imbursements.  Develop standards in compliance with state wage and hour laws including overtime, double time, California terminations, manual checks, vacation benefits utilization and liability calculations.

Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures.  Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

Responsible for payroll general ledger journal entry and payroll reconciliations are accurate for both US and Canada Payroll.

Responsible for maintaining employee vendors including set up, address changes and banking information into SAP.

Develop written and verbal communications to employees regarding payroll issues.

Ensure all compliance policies are supported including SOX requirements.

Qualifications

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years payroll experience

• Experienced dealing with large payroll’s (+500 employees)

• Must have working knowledge of payroll systems (ADP preferred)

• Exposure with multi-state payroll and payroll taxes

• Work with attendance program such as ADP’s e-Time

• Associate’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel)

• SAP experience is a plus

• Advanced knowledge of payroll taxes and government regulations a plus

• Basic knowledge of Accounting Principals including accruals

• Have the ability to work independently and have strong attention to details

• Use good judgement, have excellent follow up skills and accuracy

• Be well organized, timely, analytical and mathematical

• Have strong customer service and communication skills, including written and verbal communication

• Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and different disciplines
