Description

The Plant Manager is responsible for all aspects of manufacturing plant management, including plant productivity, plant efficiencies, capital management, regulatory compliance, facility & equipment maintenance, plant engineering, production, materials, plant purchasing, distribution, and health & safety.

You will provide motivational leadership and communication to all team associates to ensure understanding and attainment of + QDIP performance objectives and daily shipments; utilize, drive, and promote understanding of DBS tools and principles to ensure delivery of business objectives and a culture of continuous improvement.  The ideal candidate possesses the ability to build a culture of high concern and awareness of safety and accident prevention and build a culture of high expectations around product quality, customer service while continuing to decrease inventory.


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and implement kaizen plans, daily management, lean conversion and countermeasures that align with and support Policy Deployment.
  • Responsible for the following:
      • Execution of the monthly cost variance.
      • Annual production and productivity improvement plan.
      • Annual capital expenditure plan & budget.
      • Annual operating plan & plant financial budget.
      • Development of the annual inventory reduction plan.
      • Safety record and environmental compliance within the plant.
      • Build a sustainable organization that constantly focuses on how to improve plant operating margins.
      • Development of staff.
      • Build a culture of high expectations around product quality & customer service reliability.
  • Motivate & mobilize people at all levels to do what is in the best interest of the company.
  • Instill a sense of urgency & an achievement-oriented culture throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Make solid judgmental decisions quickly.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Undergraduate degree in business, science or engineering required; preferably with an emphasis in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration studies.
  • 5-10 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years plant leadership experience preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Working knowledge of and advanced training in Lean Manufacturing concepts and techniques with specific experience in lean conversion (cellular flow, standard work and play book, point-of-use inventory, Kanban, and score card) and Kaizens.
  • Experienced working in an ERP (Oracle/SAP) integrated planning & scheduling environment.
  • Must have strong data and fact-based problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO requirements & modern quality management tools.
  • Basic financial & cost accounting management knowledge, including cost & variance analysis.
