The incumbent will design, develop and implement advance quality control processes, utilizing but not limited to Zeiss CMM's using Calypso 5.XX and higher with strong PCM programming and other automatic metrology equipment (i.e..: Hommel, vision measurement, etc.) for individualized dental reconstruction parts in the highly-regulated industry of Medical Device. Improve and/or update existing quality control methods on production lines across the company worldwide.  Document development about quality processes per internal policies and medical devices standards. Use and implement statistical production control (SPC) to reduce 100% quality control (QC) needs and production cost. Use engineering best practice in the day to day work. Use Problem Solving Process to discover root causes of issues and apply proper counter measure and fixes. 

  • Develop and maintain Metrology automation for new projects and current automation for production needs.
  • Responsible for manufacturing and QC process design, including machinery selection and automation level selection, example CMM, Laser Scanning system, Vision control system, manual equipment, etc.
  • Build strong business case along with development or improvement concept.
  • Responsible for URS's, Functional Specification (FS), Test Plan and Test Report, Validation Plan and Report and the execution, process implementation and training. 
  • Act as an expert and 3rd level support on all quality inspection processes with the production engineering and operation crew, including GD&T and Blueprint interpretation.
  • Work lean and adhere to the Danaher business systems.
  • Support and attend meetings as required.
  • Completes assigned tasks on time with minimal supervision.

Job Requirements


  • Associates (or higher) degree in a technical/engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing) or 5+ years of experience as a CMM programmer in a manufacturing environment. 
  • 5+ years’ experience using with Zeiss Calypso 5.X and higher (emphasis on designing and implementing Quality control processes; Some PCM experience knowledge required
  • 3+ years supporting metrology deployment; in production manufacturing preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in designing and implementing new manufacturing process within a regulated industry (FDA/CE/GMP); medical device preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in maintaining production floor measurement systems (CMM, Vision, Manual, etc.)
  • 3+ years experience using of Six Sigma tools with emphasis on statistical process control (SPC)
  • 3+ years experience using Metrology equipment and techniques; capability to automate QC processes preferred 
  • 3+years experience maintaining production floor measurement systems (CMM, Vision, Manual, etc.)

Qualified Candidates will possess:
  • Working knowledge and skill of statistical process control (SPC).
  • Advanced geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) skill.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • 6 Sigma/Lean Green/Black Belt (Preferred) 
  • CAD- engineering knowledge
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multi-task and handle several concurrent assignments
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
