Description

JOB SUMMARY: Plans and designs
manufacturing processes to meet cGMP requirements.Plans and designs manufacturing processes. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 
  • Create and update the manufacturing documentation (i.e. assembly instructions, routers, rework travelers, etc.) 
  • Identify, procure and validate production equipment and provide necessary training.
  • Identify, evaluate and procure new tools and fixtures. 
  • Evaluate and validate vendors’ processes, develop specifications, and resolve quality issues. Troubleshoot manufacturing problems and make recommendations based on thorough analysis. Disposition non-conforming material. 
  • Develop and implement lean manufacturing processes, while ensuring efficient methods are utilized. 
  • Identify new technology and equipment to support process improvements. 
  • Specify layout of equipment for maximum efficiency (i.e. cell mfg concept). 
  • Develop and implement

    cGMP requirements are meet.
  • Support team environment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

-Bachelors degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial, mechanical engineering or related fields and 
-4+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment required.
-Must be familiar with CAD software and a good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Preferred Skills :

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to write reports and business correspondence in English. Communicate clearly with staff and other key members in the company while maintaining a high level of professionalism.  

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions. Being able to quickly assess large amounts of information and data. The ability to consider and evaluate the interrelationships of numerous factors. The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Must be able to fully interpret engineering drawings or blueprints. 
  • Familiar with commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a manufacturing and engineering environment.
  • Good MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience with statistical or six sigma tools such as gage R&R, hypothesis testing, pareto charts, cause and effect diagram, and FMEA.
  • Experience with lean methodologies such as single piece flow, SMED, 5S, visual management, Gemba walk, and quality at the source.
