Description

JOB SUMMARY: 
Plans and designs manufacturing processes. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Develop and implement lean manufacturing processes, while ensuring efficient methods are utilized.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing problems and make recommendations, relying on limited experience, work colleagues, and other resources (i.e. vendors, universities, internet, etc).
  • Evaluate vendor process, develop specifications, and resolve quality issues.
  • Select production equipment for procurement, validate, and conduct training.
  • Specify layout of equipment for maximum efficiency (i.e. cell mfg concept).
  • Support team environment.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum one (1) year relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • 2+ years of experience in continuous improvement initiatives (value-stream mapping, kaizen, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience in project management experience with consideration of cost, policy, Company directives and talent
  • Minimum six (6) months experience with CAD software
  • Ability to fully interpret engineering drawings or blueprints.  
  • Strong communication and organization skills i.e. a well-organized and structured individual
  • Strong computer skill including experience using MS Office
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead others
  • Knowledgeable in DBS skills including Kanban, Standard Work and Value Stream Mapping
  • Experience in cross functional environment between engineering, quality and operations
  • Experience with statistical or six sigma tools such as gage R&R, hypothesis testing, pareto charts, cause and effect diagram, and FMEA.
