Manager Financial Planning & Analysis – LIFE SCIENCES
The Manager Financial Planning & Analysis role will provide analytical and decision support to senior management of the operating company. They must be able to develop, interpret and implement financial planning & analysis concepts including budgeting, forecasting and reporting. They will partner with other finance colleagues to continuously improve forecast, budget and reporting processes. This individual contributor position reports directly to the Life Sciences Global FP&A Director.
Key responsibilities:
  • Analyze and report results on daily/weekly/monthly KPIs, identifying opportunities and risks. 
  • Consolidate the financial forecasts and annual plans submitted by the various Life Sciences Finance leads. Assist the FP&A Director and CFO in reviewing the consolidated forecasts and preparing/submitting required adjustments.
  • Prepare financial reports, including monthly financial forecasts and annual budget for the company including variance analysis against forecast and year-over-year.
  • Support P&L and working capital forecast activities from a department to a total company level.
  • Develop high quality reports in SAP’s BPC (Enterprise Performance Management) and Oracle Business Intelligence, providing super-user level support to finance department. Provide standard templates and models to Life Sciences Finance leads to assist in coordination of planning and budgeting tasks.
  • Provide reporting support to human resources including headcount tracking and forecasting for the operating company.
  • Minimal accounting support for shared service functions required, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliation.   
  • Ad hoc requests and projects as required.
  • Occasional domestic travel required (5%-10% of time).

Job Requirements


Specific Requirements:
  • Demonstrated skills in preparing forecasts and producing accurate financial and operational metric reports.
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written), presentation and interpersonal skills needed for cross-functional, multi-site scope of role.
  • Candidate must be detail oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and complete assignments quickly and accurately.
  • Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work assignments with limited guidance in a changing environment.
  • Strong to advanced MS Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables etc.) as well as proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint) required.
  • Previous experience with enterprise performance management report writing (e.g. BPC, Hyperion) required. Previous experience with Oracle, Oracle Business Intelligence a plus.
  • Minimum of a Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar field required, 5-7 years of relevant experience; or MBA with 3+ years of relevant experience, CMA or CPA a plus.
