Description

This job is your chance to transform and improve the core processes of a state-of-the-art global R&D organization at a highly successful international company. The right candidate is able to take these processes to the next level of effectiveness while staying in compliance, and thereby enabling shorter time to market for our diagnostic products, which help healthcare professionals, make diagnostic decisions that save lives. 

It is a key position for the company, has high exposure to management and offers excellent career opportunities for the successful candidate. In addition, you will contribute to the evolution and deployment of Danaher’s world leading set of LEAN tools and principles spanning all functions of the company both in Denmark and internationally.

Set the strategic direction for LEAN deployment within R&D
As Global R&D’s LEAN Leader, you are responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful implementation of the Danaher Business System (DBS) at Radiometer’s R&D entities worldwide, allowing those to meet their Policy Deployment and Key Performance Indicator targets. 

Together with Global R&D top management, the LEAN Leader is responsible for setting the strategic direction for LEAN deployment within R&D. Furthermore, the LEAN Leader customizes, promotes, and deploys selected DBS LEAN tools to drive continuous improvement of all relevant processes across R&D. In doing so, the LEAN Leader benefits from close collaboration with Danaher’s DBS Office. 

Your background and experience is probably from R&D or Operations within the Medical Devices industry. As LEAN Leader, you are part of the R&D organization located at Radiometer’s headquarters in Brønshøj, Denmark. However, you work together with a wide range of stakeholders within R&D, Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Sales, Services, Marketing and HR in Denmark and internationally.
Key responsibilities summed up
• Drive improvement in technology development, product development and product sustaining.                
• Facilitate diagnosis of workflow impediments and other wastes across Global R&D, and apply LEAN tools to eliminate them.                                                     
• Ensure successful kaizen events.
• Provide DBS LEAN tool training to R&D associates worldwide. 
The job takes you travelling up to 20% of your time.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

We expect that you have a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical area, e.g. Engineering, Science, Pharmacy or similar. This combined with most of the following increase your chances of success in the job:

• Demonstrated proficiency applying LEAN principles within R&D, Operations or similar.
• Superior communication, training, consulting, coaching and group facilitation skills.
• Five to ten years practitioner experience with product development, technology development or product maintenance preferably within the medical devices industry.
• Multi-disciplinary R&D skills (hardware, software, optical, chemical, mechanical, systems).
• Independent worker with positive attitude, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever changing environment, and able to effectively deal with difficult situations and conflicts.
• Ability to work and influence all levels of the organization from senior leaders, functional leaders to project managers and practitioners in all functional areas.
• High trustworthiness and followership, and willing to go the extra mile, do what it takes. 

Fluency in English is required and additional languages like Danish is a plus. Expect to use the following IT tools: MS Office, MS Project, Virtual team collaboration tools, Documentation management systems, Requirement management systems.
