Description

ChemTreat is looking for the right individual to step into our fast-paced, challenging environment as our Systems Engineer. You’ll be working to maintain the stability of the environment while also moving the company forward through innovation and technology. You’ll be part of a talented IT team working to bring innovative solutions to drive the top and bottom lines of our business. Identify and analyze company requirements for servers, storage and application processing and develops recommendations for new or enhanced systems, services and technologies throughout the company.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policies across multiple sites and businesses. 
  • Lead the effort to integrate multiple Active Directory environments.
  • Lead in the design and re-architecture of existing Windows and Unix/Linux server infrastructures.  This can include virtualization and data center consolidation/centralization efforts.
  • Lead in Microsoft Azure infrastructure deployment, management, and migration of resources.
  • Package and deploy applications to multiple environments.
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft SQL Database Servers.
  • Work in conjunction with a Network Engineer based in Chile to coordinate on LATAM focused infrastructure projects.
  • Configure/setup, maintain and troubleshoot servers and services - automation of redundant processes.
  • Create, update, and maintain accurate procedures for completing common activities.
  • Participate in infrastructure and capacity planning.
  • Participate in the planning, designing and testing of disaster recovery procedures.
  • Application and operating system tuning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Design, implement and deploy infrastructure to support a global environment.
  • Plan, implement and maintain security solutions and controls.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills: 
  • Strong Oral and Written communication skills in both English and Spanish.  Portuguese is a plus.
  • Strong problem solving skills and experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • 5-10+ years systems administration experience in multi-platform environments (Windows/Linux).
  • Concrete understanding of Windows operating concepts (files, file systems, active directory, replication, processes, service and log management, users, Terminal services, permissions, I/O, devices, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of Windows Server 2003/2008/2012.
  • Solid understanding of SNMP, DNS, DHCP.
  • Experience with direct/network attached storage devices.
  • Experience with virtualization technology such as VMware running in a production environment.
  • Experience implementing highly available solutions
  • Experience with designing, implementing and supporting backup and replication technologies for disaster recovery.
  • Highly motivated and competent with decision-making ability to work without close supervision.
  • Knowledge of network architectures, protocols and security fundamentals.
  • MCSA, MCSE or MCSM certifications a plus.
  • BA/BS in computer science or equivalent education desired but will consider hands on/real world experience.
