Description

The Jr. Process Engineer is responsible for executing engineering tasks assigned under the supervision of a Senior Engineer. This includes: overseeing and sustaining production processes, continuous improvement initiatives, implementation and review of SOPs for the production environment and troubleshooting.  He/she will work closely with the CAM Development Team and other disciplines in Product Development to meet corporate goals, product quality and cost objectives.

  • Responsible for engineering oversight of the production process(es) to which they are assigned.
  • Ensures efficient and stable process performance of assigned production line(s).
  • First in line to address production issues that need immediate attention by employing temporary counter measures followed by permanent solutions if required. Tools used include PSP.
  • Keeps track and reports KPIs to manager(s), develops action plan that addresses and change red KPIs to green.
  • Documents and carries out shop floor implementation tests for modified manufacturing processes based on PFMEAs and summarizes findings in technical reports.
  • Performs verification and validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) activities of new/modified production processes, equipment and workflows.
  • Analyzes information and data utilizing statistical principles to make sound technical decisions
  • Proposes and participates in Kaizen events.
  • Creates and trains production employees on standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
  • Provides technical support for quality or manufacturing issues.
  • Supports and contributes to continuous improvement activities (“Lean 6-Sigma”).
  • Demonstrates “can-do” approach and dedication to solve equipment and process issues to keep production lines in full service.
  • Supports new product launch engineering tasks that include writing SOPs and PFMEAs.

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering or equivalent
  • 1+ year of experience in manufacturing and/or process development
