Description

We are looking for a hands-on IT Team Lead to provide inspiring leadership to a small IT team (2-5 people) in support of the fast-paced and innovative R&D department. The goal is to provide R&D department with effective solutions to automate and formalize R&D processes and workflows and support daily needs of R&D internal users, with the ultimate goal of enabling fast introduction of products to the market.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Project Management
  • Create a vision for the team and a long-term roadmap to implement it
  • Translate long-term roadmap into specific short-term projects, initiatives and tasks
  • Coordinate work of the team on a weekly and daily basis, ensuring effective prioritization, planning, assignment of tasks and high-quality execution
  • Ensure formal design process is followed and provided technical solutions are documented and validated for use in the Medical Device manufacturing environment in accordance with regulatory expectations and laws
  • Report on progress of important high-profile initiatives to the external stakeholders
  • Plan and coordinate training and deployment of solutions to the R&D internal users
  • Plan, monitor and control team’s budget
  • Configuration Management:
  • Create formal processes and ensure proper configuration management practices are followed by team including: configuration identification, baselining, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.
  • Requirements Analysis
  • Gather R&D internal customers’ needs, and use them to elicit requirements for building corresponding solutions
  • Lead, inspire and challenge the team to find innovative and efficient solutions to support the needs of the R&D department
  • Provide technical support to internal customers, such as:
  • Applications management (user accounts, licenses, configuration, etc.)
  • Tier1-Tier3 technical support
  • Etc.
  • Define processes, best practices and metrics, and use them to control, monitor and continuously improve team’s effectiveness
  • Maintain required department records and reports

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Mandatory:
  • Bachelor of Science degree 
  • 8 years of hands-on experience in IT teams
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • 3+ years of formal configuration management experience
  • Proven hands-on experience and strong working knowledge of: 
  • virtualization,
  • networking,
  • computer architecture, 
  • scripting, 
  • Windows OS.
Nice to have:
  • DevOps experience
  • PMI-ACP, PMI-PMP certification
  • Requirements elicitation experience
  • Experience with regulated development environment (e.g. medical devices) and formal validation
  • Proven hands-on experience and strong working knowledge of: 
  • database administration,
  • active directory,
  • security,
  • Linux

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  • Passion to learn new systems, technologies and tools,
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
