Description

The Indirect Procurement Category Manager – South America will have direct responsibility for managing a group of services and indirect procurement items that span ChemTreat’s business. The Indirect Procurement Category Manager will ensure best cost positions in the category, develop relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and will be an expert in the market for the items in assigned categories. Additionally, the position will have responsibility for the total spend of direct and indirect procurement for Chile. Person in the role must have   the interpersonal skills and organizational agility to influence others and operate across functional boundaries, to develop networks, an entrepreneurial spirit, a results orientation and strong problem-solving skills with experience in conflict resolution.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITILES

•         Develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure global supplier quality, delivery, cost, lead time, inventory, cost performance, and risk mitigation goals are met

•         Manage approx. $30 - $40 million dollars annual spend. Lead negotiations with suppliers to achieve identified sourcing strategies

•         Execute on projects that will achieve year over year price savings within the managed category

•         Develop an overall supplier base which creates and sustains a competitive advantage, utilizing global market exploitation, leveraging spending and technologies

•         Develop and deliver clear category management plans that will include but are not limited to:

o    Evaluating existing supply relationships, volume allocations and spend.

o    Set goals and objectives based upon annual requirements and business objectives.

o    Review with impacted business leaders for alignment.

•         Lead the analysis of relevant markets and provide insight from that analysis to internal and external customers

•         Conduct commodity specific competitor and industry analysis to identify cost, material selection, manufacturing techniques and materials sourcing to improve the company’s competitive position

•            Work in collaboration with Danaher Companies in Corporate sourcing initiatives and projects. Ensuring Chemtreat’s needs and requirements are properly addressed.

•         Play an active role in resolving critical quality and delivery issues with suppliers; comprehensive ownership of supplier performance.

•         Stay informed of changing environmental, social responsibility and diversity standards, regulations, and laws.

•         Works closely with the Regional Indirect Category Agent in South America, to ensure implementation of sourcing strategies

•         Embrace the Danaher Business System (DBS), and promote a continuous improvement culture to support business growth.

•         Deliver supplier and contract related communication to internal stakeholders

•         Monitor ongoing benefits tracking and compliance assessments to achieve optimal value and cost-savings.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Good negotiation skills and working knowledge of key suppliers in the chemical industry. Technical and business knowledge sufficient to understand business needs; Good working knowledge of CTI's order management system, Ability to manage materials and orders in CTI's system, Strong communication skills; Interpersonal skills; Teamwork and leadership; Good Analytical skills; Good organizational skills; self-starter with the ability to work well independently and in teams; High working proficiency of in Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to understand database structure and output.

Bachelor’s Degree in related field. Five years of Purchasing, Commercial, or Supply Chain experience with strong negotiation skills and working knowledge of direct materials. Ability to travel occasionally to visit supplier locations. CPM or CSCP highly desired.
