Reporting directly to the Director, Human Resources, the HR Business Partner Global Services will serve as the HR business partner to Technical Support, Customer Support, Global Marketing, Training & DBS and Service Enablement. The incumbent is responsible for supporting, advising and consulting on all aspects of HR within the client group. The location of the role ideally will be within one of the main business sites in NA, preferably in Brea, CA.
The HR Business Partner will work with his/her business partners to deliver (and develop where appropriate) a broad range of HR services to the organization.  This includes but is not limited to providing leadership and direction in the following critical areas within HR: change management; talent acquisition and talent management planning practices; engagement and retention; organizational development and training; compensation and benefits; employee relations; HR compliance, and general policy administration.   • Advise and partner with the functional / departmental leaders on HR and business matters
  • Advise and partner with the business leader/s on communication and change management
  • Responsible for key talent and management development including consulting with leaders regarding team development, succession and personal/professional development of associates
  • Drives and sustain core process supporting performance management – challenges managers to assess correctly and make the right calls around people, and supports them working through those decisions
  • Drives and sustains the key processes around engagement, from analysis, communication, feedback and action planning to sustainability and ongoing dynamic action from pulse surveys and OLSC
  • Drives the P4G process, calibration and OTA processes, ensures robust development plans and strong execution with alignment to succession and career plans
  • Leads in developing best practices and implementing policies and processes as applicable
  • Manages associate relations including problem solving, counseling, coaching
  • Drives recruiting and employment activities to ensure the timely placement of qualified associates
  • Has personal ownership for key HR metrics (recruitment, development, retention, etc.) for client area and works with leaders to dive to root cause and develop and execute appropriate counter-measures where needed
  • Works with leaders and managers to professionally execute corporate policies and HR programs ensuring appropriate and agreed levels of quality, delivery and cost
  • Advises leaders and managers on external employment-related law and internal policy and ensures compliance
  • Champions the Danaher Business System (DBS) through driving the organizational culture that encompasses continuous improvement and policy deployment of strategic initiatives, hiring the right fit people and ensuring associates are onboarded and have the right level of regular education, training and development on lean, growth and leadership DBS tools
  • Travel required up to 20-30% of time
  • Conduct any additional duties as required

Job Requirements


  • Experienced HR partner with a minimum of 5 -8 years of strong senior business partner responsibilities
  • Prior experience with a geographically dispersed workforce, including remote managers and direct reports
  • Strong knowledge of all facets of US state and Federal employment legislation (particularly helpful for California and Florida)
  • Technical expertise in the areas of associate relations, change management staffing; development; compensation; HR administration; and working knowledge of payroll and payroll processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and understand the implications their actions and the HR function will have on the organizational demands of a rapidly evolving company
  • Additional professional qualifications will include, but not be limited to:
  • Results oriented – has track record for delivery results, takes ownership and is accountable
    • Continuous improvement oriented – has familiarity with lean and change management principles and how to apply them to HR
    • Embraces and thrives on challenge and stretch goals
    • Customer Service oriented – high sense of urgency
    • Proven ability to manage the staffing challenges associated within a multi-site company
    • Strong mentoring and coaching skills; able to manage and influence the team to drive the HR functions
    • Is a team player who rrecognizes the importance of relationship management and builds credibility through action and results
  • Strong organizational, analytical and management skills. Possess strong project management skills
  • Previous experience in the Biotechnology/Life Sciences industry will be an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (HR related degree and or credentials / Masters / MBA preferred)
