The Global Supply Planning Manager, Americas manages the Supply Planning processes for inbound finished goods from external suppliers into Central Warehouses, outbound finished goods for the local warehouses replenished from Central Warehouses, outbound finished good for the direct distribution customers and distributors as well as the customer-planned inventories. The function is responsible for Supply Chain end to end Service level therefore it must ensure that supply of finished products is available to meet the global demand plan. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for inventory turns, supply chain lead time, total inventory value and for driving Service improvements and implementing best practice. 

The function will lead development and improvement of the Supply Planning processes with all involved functions in the Central and Local Warehouses and on all levels (operational, tactical and strategical). This will include running projects to implement system support or to enable a better utilization of SAP, review of planning parameters and methods used. 

The Global Supply Planning Manager, Americas is also responsible for developing and coaching a small team of Supply Planners.


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage finished goods from external suppliers to the Central Warehouse. 
  • Balance inventory levels between Central Warehouses.
  • Fulfill accurate product shipments within cost and core working capital. 
  • Manage the planning of the in house assembled Kits.
  • Responsibility for the product availability, inventory turns, supply chain lead-time and total inventory value for the assortment in all nodes in the supply chain.
  • Manage new and existing VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) customers with high standards and customer requirements.
  • Manage inventory planning master data settings across Nobel Biocare operations network that meet Service requirements at optimal production and distribution cost.
  • Run and maintain local warehouse and supplier review meetings to provide accurate information concerning the Supply Chain performance Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • The incumbent will interact with several functions of the business at management level which include:  Operations, Sales and Marketing, GRPD, IT, Finance, Business Unit leads, etc.
  • Coach, train and develop Supply Planners in their operational performance and inter-personnel skills.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in the area of Supply Chain, Logistics or Finance is preferred
  • 5 or more years’ experience in supply chain management with strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to interact with management and to collaborate with peers and other corporate functions.
  • At least 2 or more years’ experience leading a supply chain management team of 3 or more.
  • Comfortable working in matrix organizations with complexity across multiple geographies.
  • Experience with SAP system.
  • 2 or more years’ experience with Inventory Management, Production, Procurement, Launch processes and Master Data processes and systems

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • Management experience in the medical device industry preferable.
  • Strong organizational and project management experience desired with the ability to solve problems and provide solutions.
  • Ability to train others on processes and procedures.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with other languages are an asset

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Have a big picture view with good business acumen and decision-making ability required. 
  • The Supply Planning Manager Americas will benefit from broad experience of company processes including Warehousing, ERP systems (e.g. SAP), Product Development, Sales & Marketing Processes, Financial, Planning, Production and Procurement processes. 

CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS:
  • Growing number of articles: 3,000 at present
  • Management and control of minimum €30 million in inventory value
  • KPIs: Service Level (order fulfilment), Launch Availability, Cost of Goods Sold, Core Working Capital (value & turns)
  • Maintain and Improve a robust supply & inventory planning process and governance structure in a matrix type organization 
  • Coordination of Supply Planning activities for new launches across multiple locations
  • Contribution to improvement of Customer Service/Product Availability
