Ormco believes the direct contact of its sales force with orthodontists facilitates the identification and verification of market trends and new product opportunities. Ormco works closely with orthodontists to improve existing products and develop new products primarily through its Champion programs in which selected orthodontists assist Ormco in designing, developing and ultimately educating users on new product and technique innovations.


Description

We are looking for a Global Product Manager who is passionate about building products that customers love. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy.

  • Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.
  • Builds product concept business cases, to be presented to upper management for approval in PPG.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
  • Provides technical and training support to sales.
  • Co-Travels with sales reps to maintain current knowledge on the orthodontic market.
  • Works with cross-functional teams on OTD, remediation and sustaining projects.
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.
  • Develops product sales strategies by working with sales & marketing.
  • Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results.
  • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.
  • Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
  • Onboards cross-functional team to all aspects of orthodontia.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

Product Manager Skills and Qualifications:
Product Management, People Management, Understanding the Customer, Product Development, Requirements Analysis, Pricing, Planning, Competitive Analysis, Sales Planning, Inventory Control, Financial Planning and Strategy

  • Bachelor's degree required; engineering/science preferred
  • 5+ years experience working in an FDA regulated product design and development environment; medical device/dental industry preferred
  • 3+ years managing product launches throughout the development cycle to include working with cross- functional teams (ie. engineering, marketing, finance, ops, etc.)
  • Ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management required
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in product development and novel technologies required
  • Strong problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
