The position of Clinical and Forensics Global Marketing Manager is accountable for designing and executing integrated marketing programs globally to 1) significantly increase Phenomenex’s presence in the clinical and forensic markets and 2) establish Phenomenex as the leading solution provider for the sample preparation and analytical testing of clinical and forensic samples. This individual will work very closely with the Global Technical Product Management team to understand market opportunities and strategic business plans to create campaigns and assets to support the strategic plans as well as with global marketing to execute marketing actions globally.

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Manage vertical market funnel and conduct market and business analysis (trends, applications, customer profiling, competitive landscape, regulatory impact, etc.) for existing and new business opportunities. Identify the key areas of growth and differentiation for the company and its products in all regions.
  • Develop strategic and tactical business plans which effectively lead to the development of new businesses or improve market share.
  • Define and implement go to market strategy and value propositions based on segmentation, targeting and positioning.
  • Understand best practices and trends in marketing communications to select the best channels for deploying marketing messages globally.
  • Establish and maintain a network with key opinion leaders in vertical market and in major applications.
  • Create compelling printed and digital assets (i.e. seminars, case studies, white papers, technical notes, applications, brochures, web pages, advertisements, etc.) to support strategic and tactical business plans.
  • Manage lead generation & qualification funnel and integrate this information within the customer relationship management system.
  • Drive effective global sales training programs and tailor those trainings to specific geographical needs.
  • Work together with tradeshow / event managers to promote clinical and forensic industry solutions at industry focused tradeshows and other events.
  • Define, enforce, and adhere to legal guidelines related to industry marketing.
  • May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Job Requirements


 Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science-related field preferred
  • PHD preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience with HPLC, GC, and/or sample preparation techniques
  • >2 years work experience in creating & executing marketing campaigns in a scientific/technical industry
  • Critical thinker and creative problem solver with a combination of good intuitive judgment and strong analytical skills
  • Provides leadership and can motivate, direct, and lead others
  • Teamwork - must be able to work with people in a variety of positions and across various functions
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Energetic self starter with initiative to drive projects and deliver results on time
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other office systems
  • Available for up to 25% travel
