GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The position of Global Director, DBS and Quality is a key role within ChemTreat’s operations throughout the Americas. The need for global quality assurance and continuous improvement activities is growing due to exporting the ChemTreat model into new business markets and geographies that increases the need for synergy, global quality standards, and automation to meet these challenges. This role is responsible for strategy development and execution for the training and implementation of quality and DBS through the utilization of kaizens and total associate involvement to implement continuous improvement activities, reduce cost, improve quality/productivity, and standardize work processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Global Director, DBS and Quality is responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful implantation of Danaher Business System at ChemTreat’s operations globally, allowing those sites to meet their Policy Deployment and Key Performance Indicator Targets through the following activities:
  • Actively lead and engage in PD and Daily Management reviews as needed
  • Drive targeted, sustainable improvement in QDCI (Quality, Delivery, Cost and Innovation) that is tied to Policy Deployment (PD) and Daily Management (DM) by leveraging DBS tools, consulting skills, and the change management process
  • Establish Quality standards and measurements throughout ChemTreat internal and external supply operations.
  • Monthly tracking and countermeasure development for all Quality Systems and deliverables
  • Ensure successful kaizen events by installing and ensuring compliance to the kaizen process (includes; (1) planning of kaizens with a dynamic funnel process tied to PD and Daily Management, (2) kaizen execution, and (3) sustainment of kaizens)
  • Assist site / company Leadership in the development of a DBS Roadmap (i.e., how to use the DBS tools to drive sustainable improvement in results)
  • Promote and facilitate diagnosis of work flow impediments and other wastes throughout the business, and provide expert counsel on appropriate DBS tools to eliminate waste
  • Improve DBS training and facilitation skills by pursuing certification in DBS tools and the Master Black Belt process for self and others
  • Promote and facilitate associate development in various DBS tools and kaizen leadership.
  • Communicate and drive “Best Practices” across the business and facilitate Danaher leadership benchmarking sessions
  • Work with DBSO to schedule events and get needed resources and help Danaher continue the evolution of the DBS tools (maintain contact with DBS Office or DBSO)
  • Benchmark and incorporate best practices from other Danaher locations
  • Integrate the ISO Quality Process into the DBS process
  • Develop staff in DBS culture to meet business performance criteria
  • Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching
  • Facilitate other DBS training sessions when appropriate (other trains and consultants from Danaher, Shingijutsu or other)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with lean manufacturing and Toyota Product Systems
  • Direct leadership responsibility within manufacturing/production environment
  • Exposure to and participation in a variety of training environments preferred
  • Project management experience
  • Fluency in English required
