Description

JOB SUMMARY:  The Full-Stack Developer is a key member of our software and web development team which develops innovative applications using a broad range of technologies.  This position will have a primary emphasis on the eCommerce (Magento) platform.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Install, configure and maintain the Magento eCommerce platform following Magento best practices
  • Create custom ecommerce modules or other new functionality using object-oriented PHP and the    Magento APIs
  • Implement data integrations with variety of platforms using web services (SOAP, XMLRPC, REST)
  • Develop new and improve upon existing features optimizing them for maximum speed and scalability
  • Understand and effectively communicate ecommerce features and limitations with regard to design and development decisions on new projects
  • Develop and test front-end solutions using HTML, LESS, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery that meet accessibility and cross browser standards
  • Browser test all major browsers and mobile devices
  • Ensure the technical feasibility and best practices of UX/UI designs, with a focus on consistency and usability
  • Produce clean, well-documented, efficient and standards-compliant code.
  • Develop reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Interpret existing site design and style guides by creating pixel perfect web pages from Photoshop files
  • Work with DevOps Engineer to set up and maintain Linux-based web servers optimized for the eCommerce platform
  • Help manage the design and development process, drive decisions, and coordinate efforts with the team
  • Contribute to internal projects and planning discussions
  • Actively learn and develop skillset, and work toward helping to coach other team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned by IT Management and Leadership

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Business or related field, or Certification in SQL.
  • Five plus (5+) years’ experience developing websites and back-end integration on LAMP stack. 
  • Two to three (2-3) years experience in eCommerce development. 
  • Two (2) years of responsive/adaptive front-end development. 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree. 
  • Experience using and troubleshooting Magento and Zend Framework, including experience extending or customizing existing products/frameworks such as Magento Enterprise. 
  • Experience implementing multiple JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, Backbone, Prototype or Bootstrap. 
  • Knowledge of PHPUnit or similar framework.  Experience with Varnish and Redis cache setup. 
  • Ability to develop and implement automated QA testing. 
  • Magento Developer Certification is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in Git practices.
  • Working knowledge of SOAP and REST APIs, Linux and MySQL, and server and client-side LESS and SASS compilation.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and slicing PSD files.
  • Must possess ability to work in an agile development team, including offshore teams
  • Exceptional, client-facing communication skills, including telephone and in-person presentations
  • Ability to adapt quickly and pick up new technologies
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Executive leadership in a concise and articulate manner. Communicate clearly with vendors, staff, and other key members in the company while maintaining a high level of professionalism. 

REASONING ABILITY: Position requires critical thinking that methodically gathers all relevant variables and then either eliminates those that are not applicable or devises a theorem to test variables/scenarios that may be impacting the issue at hand.  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and/or oral instructions.  Being able to quickly assess large amounts of information and data is very important.  In the absence of sufficient information, sound intuitive judgment is crucial to reaching favorable decisions.  Certain qualities, including self-confidence, motivation, decisiveness, and flexibility, as well as and sound business judgment are necessary.
